Beautiful setting, just a few feet from the water. Spotlight shining on the ocean shows the whitecaps. Great wine list, delicious food, excellent serive. Roasted beet salad, mac nut crusted mahi, abalone appetizer, and salted brown butter ice cream were a few of the highlights. Killer Mai Tais. Pricey but worth it. Very talented live music the nights we were... More

We decided to eat here the last night of our honeymoon. The staff was so excited to make the "event" memorable, and they succeeded! The ambiance, sunset, live music, wine selections, and menu are all fantastic. Was this the best mean we've ever had? Well to the extent that these other factors contribute, I think it was right at the... More

Canoe House is a standard for the Kohala Coast. It is pricey but the view from the outdoor tables is great at sunset. Some of the items are a little over-produced for my taste, but I get the sauce etc. on the side. They used to make the best Mai Tais in the world, but about 18 months ago they... More

Of restaurants I have visited this one is the most romantic. Right on the Blue Hawaii Pacific Ocean. Impeccable setting. Great food and wine, Watch the sun set in elegant surroundings. Does not get any better! Probably have dined there a dozen times. Run, don't walk to The Canoe House !

We ate in some fantastic restaurants during a 3 week holiday in U.S. and Canada and this was one of the best! We were staying at the Fairmont (next door) and walked past the restaurant along the beach one afternoon. The setting was fantastic and the menu suited our group so we reserved a table for our last evening on... More

We were a group of 6 friends looking for a special oceanfront dinner. We decided on the CanoeHouse because of the beautiful views and we were staying at a townhouse in Mauna Lani. We knew it would be expensive but at $40-50 a plate, I expected quality. Most of us got the Filet Mignon special which came with scallop, potatoes,... More

Fabulous view of the shoreline, peaceful and romantic, friendly servers, and an amazing combination of flavors. I tried the wine pairings....lamb over a bed of vegetables and some sort of wild grains, paired with a wonderful Syrah. I also had scallops with some type of white wine...It exceeded my expectations.

Lovely setting, good attention and food. We sat at a "front-line" table looking over the ocean, though it turned fresh because of the evening winds. We recommend it. Any fish dish is good.

This is a top notch place. The views, food and service were outstanding. Our server was about the best I have ever experienced. Our meal was never rushed and we were made to feel we could enjoy ourselves as long as we liked. Exceptional from every aspect!!!
