The menu of this restaurant has al the ussual dishes you can order in most local restaurants, but what they serve is a refined culinary version of the traditional canarian cuisine. They use top quality ingredients and know exactly how to prepare them. The staff is very friendly and helpfull in explaining the menu and wine. We've eaten there several... More

Delicious food, perfect food presentation, clean, good service, fresh food, etc. If you want an amazing meal in Tenerife, then this is the place to go!!!! We travelled from Puerto de la Cruz and went on a Sunday afternoon. Appetiizers, entrees, dessert - all four of us were truly impressed with every bite. Perfection at it's finest. We are from... Having read about this restaurant, we travelled from the north of the island expecting to enjoy an excellent Sunday lunch. We were the first diners to arrive and were practically ignored by the waitresses - so much for their policy of making you feel at home. As local people appeared, they were all embraced and kissed and chatted with at... More

We had been looking forward to visiting El Lajar as we had been before and the food was exceptional, but this time around we were so very disappointed!! The restaurant was empty, bar one couple and this was the case for the whole evening right up to 9.30 pm. We ordered the 'vegetable' soup and what arrived tasted more like... More

I visited this restaurant with my husband and our children. The food was superb and the service very friendly and efficient. They are able to speak English but were nicely encouraging about our attempts to speak Spanish too. There is an unusual and delicious choice of starters. My main course was grilled squid, and the others had Cherne and roast... More

We have visited El Lajar quite a few times taking different friends with us. We have never been disappointed. The menu is excellent with a good variety of fish and meat. The wine which is top quality is more than reasonable. The staff are wonderful and are both friendly and helpful. I cannot tell you how good their steaks are..........you... More

Great meal, great service and great atmosphere. Loved their version of ferrero rocher and bananas wrapped in bacon as a starter.

Not much to say in great length: good food, good service, impressive and (probably) excellent choice of wine. (We could only try one...) Clean, neat, attractive environment. Whatever came to our table was quality, prepared with care and professionalism. Young staff both in kitchen and in service, working with dynamism and skill. If anything negative to be said: a somewhat... More

I waited for my second visit to this restaurant before writing this review because I thought it may be too good to be true. But it wasn't. Both meals were of exceptionally high standard. This time I tried the "Ropa vieja" (old clothes) a typical Canarian dish with a difference here - an oxtail off the bone and chick pea... More
