We were told this was a place frequented by locals so thought it would be worth a try and we were not disappointed. The grilled rabbit had to be tasted to be believed. It was so good we went back to try other menu items. Very popular so do book a table, particularly for evenings. Service was friendly and efficient,... More

Went after being recommended by the Lonely Planet book about the Canary Islands. Nice atmosphere, service-minded staff, good food. The only thing we didn't like was the fact that they charged us for an aperitif they offered without us asking at the start of the meal. A bad practice, if they want more money, they can turn up the prices... More

We were told by a Canarian that the food here tasted like something out of his grandmother's kitchen - and judging from the beautiful fish meals we had his grandmother really knew how to cook! Everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious! The restaurant is considered to be in the 'local area' rather than the touristy beach spot, and that actually... More

I spend a lot of time to choose the restaurants I visit. Especially on gran canaria, where eating-experiences can be very disappointing. My choice is partly made by the impression the images on tripadvisor present. My only disappointment at El Salsete was that some of the dishes on the images were not available and not mentioned on the menu at... More

Although this restaurant was difficult to find, it was well worth the journey. A very friendly atmosphere with great local cuisine. The manager made us very welcome, and let us try a local wine before purchasing. Would definately visit again.

Simply the best food ever on Gran Canaria. All together in two holidays we stayed over 5 weeks in Gran Canaria. Went to lots of restaurants. Some where nice, a few were not, some were very nice but only one was a gastronomical epiphany : El Salsete. El Salsete is not in a tourisitc zone, in fact nearly in front... More
