Have visited this restaurant many times over five years but I must say this time the food was not up to standard. We were both disappointed with our meals. It seems that if you were Dutch you got better attention which we have never experienced before and was very off putting which wouldn't have bothered us if the food had... More

This was my wife and I's penultimate night's dining experience in Monte Gordo, and one of the best! The tourist menu, at €13 is more expensive than most, but included a bottle of very good house red between us (there are alternative drinks). On our visit we were treated in a very courteous and friendly manner - nothing is too... More

The tourist menu is great and very good value. Had mixed grilled fish which did not disappoint. The staff is very friendly and multilingual. Will definitely return on our next visit.

My wife and I enjoyed eleven meals at Stop 3 over a 21 day holiday in September and as expected from previous experience every one was simply outstanding. We always ask "PAPA" our nick name for the Chef owner, what he has in that is special and we go by his recommendatrion. He personally buys his own fish and meat,... More

My wife and I (along with my parents) visited Stop 3 three times on our recent trip to Monte Gordo. Overall, our experience was outstanding each time. "Papa" one of the owners is such a nice guy, and along with Wilma the head waitress, they always made sure we were well taken care of and chose the best items for... More

The description didn't do the finished meal justice. I had a large tuna steak and the "onion sauce" was onions, tomatoes, peppers, herbs and was very very good. This meal was better than I anticipated. I think the translation of the dishes on offer is interesting and definitely lacks a true translation. But hey, we were on holiday and we... More

We found this Portuguese restaurant last year so we returned on our first night of our three week stay in Sept/Oct this year and ended up going back for ten meals working our way through the menu with the restaurant owner who also cooks and waits on tables. If he had anything special in on that days catch he normally offered...
