Only stayed for a few days in Frascati but loved this restaurant on the first night so we went back for more. Good food and fun loving friendly people who made sure everything was perfect. Thin crust pizza's are brilliant and the marinade lamb just fell of the bone - delicious. A choice of seating in the downstairs cellar with... More

We always stop in Frascati for lunch when we fly into Rome. We found Il Grottino after riding around for a while and chose it because of the atmosphere and the view! Great choice! The view from their terrace was fantastic! The food was equally as good. The service was great and the owner was happy to share some of... More

I`ve been to Frascati to visit a couple of friends and we went to Il Grottino restaurant. It`s a fancy place, with an interesting decoration (a stuffed wild boar on the wall and a spider lamp - very cool!). Once we arrived a little late (about 2 p.m.) the person who served us just told us to trust him that... More

The nice view is supposed to get better, as the parking on the belvedere is slated to give way to additional outdoor seating. The pizza and grilled vegetables here were great.

This trattoria is located on the belvedere (views overlooking the Roman plain outside). Fabulous atmosphere - the restaurant is in a sunken old wine cellar, cavernous, brick lined. Relatively small and intimate - maybe space for 30-40 customers. Great spread of antipasta, very friendly patrone who clearly loves his job. Not haute cuisine - just excellent authentic Italian food, excellent... More

This restaurant was the most authentic Italian restaurant that I went to in my 7 day stay in Rome. The antipasta plate was huge and had the most delicious items, I even tried the cow brain. The setting was quaint and we were the only Americans there for lunch. This is always a sign to me that the food is... More

My family and I arrived at Il Grottino by chance. Needless to say we were welcomed by chef Gian Franco and felt absolutely at home. We had the menu for 15 Euros per head which I have to say was one of the best italian meals I have ever experienced! The decor is fabulous and the food exquisite! Definately a... More
