Well worth a visit

We visited the Station Inn on the recommendation of the B&B where we stayed and we were not disappointed. The belly pork and the scampi were both very good and it was lovely to get a selection of veg including red cabbage instead of the ubiquitous peas and carrots usually offered. We stayed in Carlisle for two nights and upon reading reviews here on trip advisor we decided to drive to the station inn for a meal on our first night. Upon arriving we were a bit unsure about the place as it doesn't look that great from the outside - just like a small local pub... Then inside was a... More

This restaurant proved to be excellent. We had arrived in Gretna to stay with our cousin & she had booked us into the restaurant for our first night staying with her. She told us that the meals were excellent here & we were not disappointed. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I would recomment the haggis stuffed mushroom for entree! The... More

Visited here last Saturday when staying locally. As others have said the outside wouldn't lead you to think you would get a great meal. We were made very welcome and had a lovely meal.

Awesome home cooked pub grub perfect if travelling north/south on M74 off junction 21 near Gretna / Lockerbie. 1 min from motorway junction.

driving back from Cumbria to Scotland, we decided to stop for lunch but didn't want bad motorway food ! So we took a little detour and stumbled across the station inn - not very inspiring from the outside, but glad we choose to go in for a look. the Trip Adviser 4.5 out of 5 score swung it for us.... We were recommended to try the Station Inn by the landlady at our B&B and we were not disappointed! We were warmly welcomed and quickly served and seated despite being a bit early for our booking. The menu is that little bit different from the usual pub fayre and the 'Special' board offered unusual pub grub too. The food arrived... More

The Station Inn was recommended by the B&B proprietor where we were staying about two miles away. The menu was varied and contained food that we both like including belly of pork and Whitby scampi. We found the food and service excellent, well presented with wholesome vegetables. The bar/dining area was very comfortable/clean. Parking adjacent to the entrance. We also... More

Been today for lovely Sunday lunch. The roast beef just melted in your mouth and the selection of veg with it was lovely. Would recommend sticky toffee pudding for sweet.
