Worst visit ever

We stopped here last Friday on our way through to Bedford to go to the circus.. On arriving we realised it was busy by the amount of cars in the car park so thought we would ask how long a wait for food. We were told 20 mins. so quickly ordered as we had our 3 year old grandson with... read more

We had a lovely time in this pretty village pub, excellent service and very pleasant atmosphere. The food was good value, we ate from the golden menu, and we enjoyed the conversation with the bar staff and some interesting local drinkers. Maybe a little short staffed and we waited longer than we would hope for but we were informed the... More

This used to be the village pub to visit but since the previous manager and wife left it leaves a lot to be desired. We had to wait about 20 mins for our meal and when it arrived there were parts of it still cold as it had not been cooked properly so we sent it back. Staff did not... More

Visited yesterday always liked this pub but has gone downhill rapidly. Food mediocre. Place could do with a good clean especially the chairs. Smell from toilets disgusting why don't they sort it out. Finished by stepping out into darkness outside lights hadn't been switched on to car park. Shame used to like this pub but won't be back until vast... More

Having never been to the Swan before, it always looks nice when we drive past so we thought we would finally give it a go. The menu had a good selection of different meals and we were impressed with the massive pints of coke they gave us while we were waiting for the food to arrive. The meal was okay.... More

The restaurant area was a bit grubby and the view into the kitchen was worrying as we could see pots and tea towels on the floor. My two children had macaroni cheese with garlic bread which was ok but nothing special. I had a haddock dish which again was ok but the accompanying new potatoes were awful, very dry and... More

The Swan is a delightful building with a rich history and in a prime location but alas, the place is a total dump, there is a continual foul smell from the bar sink, the toilets are a disgrace and the place is generally filthy. Tables have glasses piled high and the general hygiene is very questionable, when you leave you... More
