Came here for dinner and had a fabulous dining experience. The ambience is great, with the restaurant located in the countryside about 20 minutes from Sandvika and the motorway from Oslo. Very authentic and old surroundings make for a great ambience. The service was excellent, knowledgable and efficient as well as friendly, with the owner herself also serving. The food... More

Me and my husband had the pleasure of enjoying a three course lunch menu at this wonderful restaurant. The prices are quite stiff at this place but the lunch menu is not so bad (420kr for 3-course) The atmpophere is historic and very cozy. The food was excellent and the service was tip top! Would love to come back! Well... More

This is a restaurant best saved for very special occasions. It has excellent atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff, and some of the best restaurant food you can get in Norway. I have eaten there twice, am a picky eater, and the food is always excellent. But the prices are ridiculous, high even by Norwegian standards. The benefit is that it... More

We went to Værtshuset Bærums Verk for a family dinner. Because of a full restaurant we got oru very own room. Great service and atmosphere. You can litteraly feel the history in the walls. Food was excellent, but quite pricy. What the waiter lacked of knowledge on wine, was compensated with friendliness and knowledge of the buildings history.

Went there with my family for lunch and we all ordered the three course lunch menu. The lobster soup was delicious and the beef we had for main course was really tender. One of the members of our group ordered well done reindeer meat which was excuisite as well. The chocolate fondant was really good as well. The only negative... More

The restuarant is excellent in all areas and having been there on several occasions, it certainly meets all the criteria one would look for when dining at this establishment. The location (romantic setting),the food (unquestionable), the service (second to none),atmosphere (soothing) and a large selection of fine wines. Like any restaurant in Norway for a foreigner it is expensive BUT... More
