First class food and atmosphere!

One of the country's oldest restaurants still in business! The rooms are small but autentic, and the food is like a Norwegian kind of French cuisine! Built ca 1640 - you can see the tradition in every detail in the house - located outside Oslo! Excellent food - good service.

Stopped by alone on my way to squash, and have never, before or since, been given such a once-over by the "bunad" attired hostess. Ok, I was in my training clothes, but perfectly presentable. This attitude carried through to the meal. Uninventive and boring. Pretentious. Reindeer-fillet with foie gras, pommes dauphine, port-reduction and boiled veg. Uninventive. Houses are beautiful, other... More

Walk straight into several hundred years of history and select top dishes, among them several very "home made". Couples, family, small or medium-size parties - what about a "chambre separee" ? A guearenteed memorable night out !

We visited Bærums Verk Vertshuset, hoping for a romantic dinner. We were not disappinted. The small wooden house and its old tranditional norwegian furniture are sensational. There are several separat small dining rooms which ensures privacy if preferred. We had a tiny room all for ourselves which was just perfect for us. The service was excellent. Food was served up... Vertshuset Bærums Verk is really a special place. It is situated in small wooden buildings, the furniture in each room is like you see in great grandmothers pictures and each building has several small rooms so that every party can stay for themselves. The food is excellent and it is served with very polite and knowledgeable waitresses. The place has... More

Everything in this historic restaurant (Norways oldest) is an experience to be enjoyed. Service, presentation, ambience, delicious courses made with fresh ingredients all make for an unforgettable dining event. I have lived in Norway for 32 years and will attest to dining here for that something special, you won't be disappointed!

Came here for dinner and had a fabulous dining experience. The ambience is great, with the restaurant located in the countryside about 20 minutes from Sandvika and the motorway from Oslo. Very authentic and old surroundings make for a great ambience. The service was excellent, knowledgable and efficient as well as friendly, with the owner herself also serving. The food... More

Me and my husband had the pleasure of enjoying a three course lunch menu at this wonderful restaurant. The prices are quite stiff at this place but the lunch menu is not so bad (420kr for 3-course) The atmpophere is historic and very cozy. The food was excellent and the service was tip top! Would love to come back! Well... More
