What a great find. A little wine bar in the village of Balzan just a short walk from our hotel, The Corinthia Palace. We sat outside and were lucky that this week is their Fiesta. Monday was the start of a week of celebrations and where we sat we could see and hear the brass band playing and feel the... More

The Rev. Dr.Giuseppe Zammit, an eminent Maltese doctor who has left his country an important legacy, retreated to this 300-year-old building to enjoy his leisure time. It has been meticulously restored and is now open to the public for friends to meet and relax. Serves typical nibbles and small eats, coffee and a variety of wines.

I really enjoyed a Saturday evening at this winebar, the large mixed platter to share, a few starters to nibble and some good wine. Fantastic, very good service and lovely atmosphere, this time round we got seated upstairs and we loved it. Well done indeed

No wonder people flock from all over Malta to wine and dine at this intimate, friendly wine bar run by Stefan next to Hal Balzan church. Extensive choice of top class wines and captivating food to go with it. 300-year-old building oozes history and the customers make for a lively but inviting atmosphere. Worth checking out. We loved it.

Definitely one of the best wine bars on the island, and we have been to quite a few ;). First of all the setting is very relaxing. The service was excellent since they made sure we were taken good care of. But the biggest highlight for me was the food. The portion of the platter represented a good value for... More

For Corinthia Palace Hotel residents, looking for a lightweight, inexpensive, alternative to the gourmet offerings of the hotel restaurants, Fra Guisseppe Wine bar is an excellent solution. The menu, while limited, is wholesome. The wines are reasonably priced - a deliciously quaffable full-bodied red for €18 !! And a large XO cognac for €8. My kind of Wine Bar :))

Unusual quaint place which is more of a Wine bar with good food. Used the place several times for private functions and always turned out excellent service. Very friendly atmosphere.

Every 3 weeks or so I leave work in the UK and dash to the airport for the 18.30 flight to Malta. After landing, the lovely Mr Wright collects me and we head straight to Fra Giuseppe to start my visit with a relaxing nightcap. An excellent wine list, lovely sharing platters and a warm friendly atmosphere is all brought... More

We like to go a lot in this winebar. The selection of both food and wine is good. The service and food itself are lovely. Thumbs up!

Definitely our favourite wine-bar, whether visiting with friends or as a couple. The owner is a great host and all the young waiters are really helpful. The background music provides a wonderful setting and although the menu is limited (typical of a wine bar), there are daily specials available and it's always difficult to choose between a hearty mushroom soup...
