Good restaurant for a small place

This is a one of the many restaurants found in Monteriggione which is a small walled city 1km long and 500m wide sitting in the middle of vineyards and farmland. The food was good and the service very good considering that they got a rush of people hiding from the heavy downpour. The wine list... read more

Located within the castle square, try to get (reserve) a table in the garden area of this restaurant. As you would hope in Italy, there is a terrific wine list. Pricy, as is the menu in general. The food was fine, not the best meal we ate ( cheese w/ walnuts and honey, truffled pasta, chateaubriand for two), but for... More

We have been Italy for ten days and this was the tastiest food we have had so far. Friendly and good service too.

Il Piccolo Castello is a very charming restaurant inside the old walls of Remo, Monteriggioni. The prices in the restaurant are high even when compared with the places nearby.

Average food and poor service ... once is enough! Prices were on the high side too. Too many other good places to explore. They have good location, interior with character and pleasant garden area. With a dash of good management & service, this could be a gold mine!

We were attracted by the specials board outside the restaurant. Once seated we were handed a much more expensive menu. Had to ask for a copy of the menu which was advertised outside. I was given the most filthy look by the waitress as she reluctantly went to get me a copy. She looked at me like I was something... More

Note that this restaurant has a second entry on TA, as Da Remo Restaurant. We chose it for a late lunch to be able to sit by their secluded, enclosed garden rather than sit in the main square, where most other restaurants have their outdoor seating. The food was the definition of average (go for the risotto with truffle sauce,... More

The food was fine for the table as a whole but I really liked my cheese plate with walnuts and a great local honey. Place was very relaxing (which was called for after a long drive). In general I liked the place but thought their fees per person in the party were lame. They give you a 2Euro coupon to... More

The headline says it all really. We initially chose this venue for the promise of "free garden" seating. The food was fine if pricey but trying to get served was a struggle with indifferent staff. What really grated was the seating charge added to the bill which left a sour taste. A poor !

Wished we had the experience of some of the people of other reviews, but sadly to say we did not. Actually the manager Stefano was quite rude. First of all he denied he actually was the manager until someone else told us he was, not sure what that was about..... Out of all the places we ate while in Italy,... More
