Always a pleasure

The restaurant is set right on the main square (the only square) of Monteriggioni, and it is a pleasant food experience. The restaurant is set right on the main square (the only square) of Monteriggioni, and it is a pleasant food experience. The traditional dishes will marvel your taste buds, and most of the choices are matched with wines accordingly. I personally recommend the steak "alla fiorentina", since I have been here quite few times so far, and the quality and... More

From the rude, older waiter who acted like he had personal grudge against us because we decided not to take starters for lunch but just go with the mains, to bread being the only really eatable choice served, nobody even asking why we requested the bill after eating less than half of our portions and then finally us both feeling... In times absolutely no suspect .... (I was 5 years old) I was dragged by my dear father in this strange place ... Monteriggioni .... and in this strange place ... without a car (or a few) are always returned and I will continue to do so! It would take me 20 pages just to describe Monteriggioni and my experiences... More

I've been eating in number of restaurants in Tuscany - this one was a big disappointment. I knew it's going to be expensive but expected great food as well, it was only expensive. The disappointed started with what was supposed to be a simple dish - vegetables with Parmesan cheese for 9Euro - There were no vegetables just CHICORY -ENDIVE... More

We stopped for lunch at this upscale appearing restaurant in little Monteriggioni. The food was jut okay but the service was terrible. We had to wait at least 45 minutes after we had asked for il conto (the bill). The place was busy but not overly so. The waiter was a short, rude, bald man who bore a distant resemblance... More

Now, saying this is the best restaurant in Monteriggioni is not difficult. There's only 2 restaurants in the village! But when choosing one, I suggest Il Pozzo (which means The Well). Don't be deceived by their outdoor seating. At first glance, the other place looks to be the best for seating but Il Pozzo has a hidden garden in the... More

This is in a lovely fort and they had seating in an out door setting. Upon arrival we were received by a very rude waiter (bald gentleman) who barked at us in response to everything that we asked. Menu was given and the order was not taken for over 30 minutes. The waiters were busy walking up and down doing... More

Excellent upmarket restaurant and lovely owner. Wide choice of dishes and wines. Excellent choice of table locations - garden, overlooking square or inside the historic building. One of the waiters has a strange manner, seeking to be highly refined and upmarket, but doesn't come off and could be off putting to some?

In the middle of Monterrigioni (although it is so small, anything is 'in the middle'...) you can find this lovely restaurant. It has a small covered garden which offers a nice spot in the shade to enjoy lunch (or dinner). Classic Tuscan dishes, try the tortellini with tartufo, fresh prepared and if you're with kids the quick service is a... More
