We cannot go to Monteriggioni without paying a visit to the Pozzo. Location is great, within the medieval walls of this very small town. Service is good, the food never disappoints. It is relatively expensive, but you get what you expect to get: good food, good wine, good service. If you want to avoid to be surrounded by tourist, don't... More

We were driving through the beautiful towns of Italy towards FLORENCE.We were hungry after some 3 hours of driving when our chauffeur, a wonderful gentleman suggested that he would take us to a restaurant which serves utterly fresh food. When we landed near the Old Well in the courtyard, we were taken to IL Pozzo restaurant (meaning the Well in... More

The restaurant is very cozy and the food is great. Take time for your meal and room for all the food...once you start, you do not want to stop!

We wanted something light and small for lunch in the town square. The tables at the restaurant next door were all filled so we sat down at a table of this restaurant. Poor choice!! Arrogant waiter, tiny salad, long wait and on top of all much too expensive.

Monteriggioni has expanded its parking but try to park at the top of the hill rather than further down: you'll save lots of walking uphill; there are meters, and the machine takes cash so have euros handy. Dante wrote about this tiny town that looks like a hill wearing a crown. The restaurant, named for the well outside it, offers... More

Charming garden covered by a canopy in the hilltop medieval fortress. Tasteful menu and well presented food. The melon was sweet and delicious on a summer day...ahh. Lovely glass of gewurztraminer complemented the prosciutto and salad. The pasta, smoked salmon, and chicken were also enjoyed by our group. Professional and courteous service, timely food, and multi-lingual menus. The indoor dining... More

The rabbit entree was excellent, Tuscan style, very flavorful and new to me. The Florentine T bone for two was huge, perfectly grilled and great. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. Reservations recommended. We arrived at opening and got a table for four, but it filled quickly, most tables were reserved, and most were taken for the entire evening.

We made a brief afternoon stop in Monteriggioni while driving back from Poneta to Rome. The restaurant is directly across from the main entrance, but can easily be missed. I am really glad we spotted it though - it is a fantastic place to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon...the food and service were excellent. The decor is really quaint yet... More

Great food, near lovely garden. We enjoyed t bone steak while our kids played at the nearest garden. One of the best restaurants we visited during this trip.

I came here for lunch with friends who are locals and eat here regularly. The food was superb, the service friendly and very much catering to the people, i.e. if you were formal they were formal, if you were relaxed they were relaxed, always welcoming in any case. We shared an excellent mixed antipasto and then had and excellent Pici... More
