It was great to find typical Spanish dishes done with some modern twists and all food was very refined. Great service.

We were staying in the adjoined Aparthotel and decided to try this restaurant since we had just arrived & starving. Of course we had also consulted TripAdvisor's reviews. We were not disappointed. The waitress was very nice. She had helped us with hotel check-in since she speaks English. We had complimentary gaspacho which was good (our first experience). The black... More

Brilliant, brilliant food. Very nice restaurant, great selection of red wines, very professional and nice staff who understand what's required depending on the guest, but above all else, amazing food. And in a city where to be honest it wasn't expected. Merida is amazing, but the hotels and, so I thought restaurants, aren't of very high standards. Well Rex Numitor... More

After so many mediocre meals in Spain, this was a big surprise, great service from the one unflustered and very professional waitress with a full room, great wine list, clever starters and one of the best lamb dishes I have ever eaten. No surprise to find the waitress and the chef were not Spanish.

Four of us were staying in the attached aparthotel, Capitolina, and we booked for a birthday dinner on our second night. The restaurant had been very busy with a baptism party at lunchtime, with hundreds of screaming kids rushing around inside and out, and the remnants were still there at 8:30 pm when we were seated, thankfully in the main... This restaurant was a nice surprise, very well situated, quiet, lovely decor and excellent Spanish cuisine. The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere very relaxing. Situated between the main square and the river, so within walking distance from the centre. The lunch was beautifully presented and served. The staff very professional and the food of the highest quality.

Stopping by from a trip Portugal-Spain, I never expected Merida, a relatively small city/town to host such an amazing restaurant! The menu was superb, and I tried probably the best "huevos rotos" ever, with a cream potato and morcilla... I would definitely stop by again next time I'm in town!

We happened upon the Rex Numitor by chance while wandering around Mérida, and after looking at the menu outside and glancing inside we immediately booked a meal. The setting is lovely and the musical ambience was just right as to level of sound and type of music (a rare thing in restaurants these days). We were there for some two... More

Strongly recommend this take on contemporary Spanish food. The award winning sweetbreads justify their fame and the octopus and violet ice cream is a revelation. If you are in Merida you must go

We opted for the set menus and were delighted with the quality and taste of each dish received. Each dish seemed to have been prepared with real care and top ingredients and we were so happy with the meal that we returned the next night. Delicious!
