If you stand on Plaza Arenal in front of Farmacia in the right corner of it and go a bit to the left in the first small lawn you will find jolly painted green chairs and tables- that is Bar Juanito:-) The best time to come to enjoy the atmosphere in the evening is 21-21.30 as if you come later... Went to Bar Juanito because I asked a local friend for recommendation for a good fried fish place, and took her recommendation without doing further research... The "bar" turned out to be a restaurant, a well-established one and on the "posh" side, white table cloth even for outdoors, but paper napkins. People told me I needed to try "pescaitos fritos"... Went here as it was rated as one of the top ten tapas bars in Andalucia but found it did not serve tapas. True,, my guide book is 14 years old so things have obviously changed! However there was an extensive menu and we all found something we liked. The only downside was the very uncomfortable low chairs on the... More

Enjoyed our visit here. Typical of many Spanish bars. Is a museum of its own achievements and family history with framed reviews having pride of place in the classic tiled interior. The meatballs in oloroso were superb. The restaurant has a reputation for its artichokes. Tried these. For us they were less interesting but taste is in the mouth of... More

I went here largely based on a guide book recommendation, as I was looking for a lunch stop. It is based near Plaza de Arenal (main square), just down a little street half way along. It was a great stop with very attentive service throughout the meal, including at the end. There was seating but plenty outside - with being... More

Six of us grabbed an outside table in the cobbled street, ensuring we caught the afternoon sun and within seconds the waiter was with us, the drinks ordered, the tapas was on its way and the serious sounds of laughter and mutterings of joys infectiously spread amongst us. 'Jerez' gentleman, finely dressed in 'Jermyn' street attire drifted out of the... More

We have been several times an are going back tomorrow. One of the best in Jerez. Recently it has been a bit quiet but all the town is a bit quieter... More

We ordered the paella for 2 and a bottle of wine. The paella was ok but not the best. Paul with his pleasant manner and sense of humour proceeded to bring other amuse bouche, tapas and drinks to make our experience one to remember. Thank you for a great evening.

This is a famous restaurant in the area and despite being concerned that it might be a tourist trap we tried it initially for drinks. The waiters were assured and attentive yet not pushy, the wine was excellent and the prices surprisingly reasonable. We resolved to return for lunch and they excelled. Tables and chairs outside are in a characterful... More

Traditional Spanish restuarant in the centre of Jerez De La Frontera. It is hidden away down a side alley behind Plaza del Arenal. In fact, the alley is the outdoor portion of the restaurant. If the outdoor portion of the restaurant is busy, step inside. Food is traditional and tasty. Little English is spoken by the staff so polish up... More
