We went to La Carbona after visiting Tio Pepe's bodega. The restaurant wasn't easy to find by car but was worth the trip. The entrance reveals a surprisingly very large room with a central fireplace. We chose to eat fish 'a la plancha', very nicely served. Wine recommendation was excellent. Overall a positively surprising experience and a discreet and stylish... More

Firstly an interesting building being an old Bodega so had lots of character. Tables not too close together and welcoming staff. Great menu - We had Foie Gras with pinones, Artichokes with sweetbreads which were both worth having. To follow shoulder ham with potatoes and chestnuts and Pork Sirloin. We did find the pork really good in Spain, much better... More

We had a very pleasant dinner at this restaurant which we selected based on TripAdvisor reviews. We had good but inexpensive wines and sherries with our meal which included a very good Fois gras terrine, bacalao and braised lamb. The €70 tab was very fair for the high quality of the meal.

We visited this restaurant because I had read earlier Trip Advisor reviews. We did not book but were welcomed warmly, although it is clearly quite a formal restaurant. It is easy to find using the map after about 10 minutes walk from the square but is a little away from the shops and passing trade. The service was friendly enough... More

Second time here for a late steak and chips - delicious. Four of us had fillet and entrecôte steaks with homemade chips and salad, washed down with a very reasonable local red. It's a cavernous but attractive place with attentive staff and fast service. I can see why people like it so much and will hopefully return to sample the... More

Set in an old bodega the chef offers a variety of dishes using the local sherry as the base. Excellent lamb and beef in ample proportions

Andalusian food at its best! Javier Munoz is a young rising star. I have had more than ten meals at La Carbona; alone, with my partner, and in larger groups, never to be disappointed. The food is oustanding. The chef prefers to use local ingredients. My steak-loving friends claim they have never had better steak at any restaurant (including fancy... More

Wow, simply wow, stunning, amazing, exceeding expectations, it was the best meal & restaurant experience I've ever had in Spain (I'm living in Spain for 5 years now). It was my birthday and I went for menu, my husband had ordered chistorrad for starter and entrecote as a main dish. What can I say - we have been eaten 1,5... More

La Carbona is a really atmospheric place, set in an former bodega, with a wood burning fire on a platform in the centre . The restaurant was pretty quiet on the evening of our visit, but I had heard reports of occasions when it was the very opposite! A notably interesting menu with some imaginative combinations. I was highly tempted... More

We spent the morning at the lovely bodega Fernando de Castilla. This was a recommendation of theirs. It was easy to find and the room was lovely. Great high ceilings and great ambiance. We enjoyed our meal as we weren't expecting anything over the top. The service was very friendly and they made great suggestions. We would go back.
