Excellent food and wine in a Sherry Bodega

This huge restaurant is in an old Sherry Bodega. We had a variety of dishes, all perfectly cooked, the 1kg enchuleta particularly impressive. They have a wide selection of local wines by the glass and bottle. As other reviewers have noted it expensive for Spain.

A funny mix of fine dining exquisite flavours, sherry, great presentation and steak and chips type meals. Service was great and we were happy we found this place, as overall we were not impressed with Jerez dining options. Or Jerez itself.

Recommended by our hotel (Casa Grande, also excellent) this was the best meal we had in Jerez having tried 4 different restaurants. Yes, it is 1/3 more expensive than other restaurants but it is 3 times better. Huge barn of a place with an open fire in the centre so definitely more atmosphere later on when there are other diners... More

Thanks to good reports on TA we went to this restaurant with friends. We had a splendid meal. Everything was good & the staff were both welcoming & helpful. The manager spoke excellent English & the menus were in both Spanish & English. As previously reported the portions were large & several of us had the leg of lamb which... More

La Carbona was located close to our hotel and highly recommended by Lonely Planet. We arrived when it opened at 8pm which in Spain is far to early, we were the only ones there. Carbona is located in an old Sherry Bodega so it's large. In the centre is a grand fireplace. On the sides of the restaurant are rooms... More

We were visiting Jerez in the spring and wanted a good Spanish dinner (not touristy tapas) and a chance to experience some of the region's sherries. This was the perfect fit and it ended up being one of the best meals of our trip. We did the tasting menu with sherry pairings. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're staying... More

Situated in a former sherry warehouse and wine aging facility, this restaurant has a really good atmosphere. there is a fireplace in the middle and a fantastic wine cellar in the form of a little house in the left rear corner. There are also a whole host of private rooms around the outside. The food was excellent, with my haunch... More

We got the 6 course sherry pairing. It was great. The service was awesome, the spacing between tables was good too. I suspect the place could get loud when crowded, but it wasn't when we ate there. Pretty easy to get from the restaurant to the train station.

We had been recommended to this restaurant and having found it on the map we wandered through the back streets to check it out. We stopped by at about 3pm on a Saturday afternoon and it was buzzing. We booked a table for 9pm on Saturday evening and were somewhat surprised when we arrived to find only one table occupied.... More

An old Bodega turned into a great venue for a restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is good with a good variety of local dishes. The local black pudding is particularly good. There is a good wine list featuring local wines.
