Best beef outside Florence

I booked this restaurant to try food matched with Sherry, but decided to share a steak with my husband. I am a seafood person, but tried the steak which was the best I have had outside of Florence! I used to come this place when I was a child. Taking advantage I was in Jerez visiting my family we decided to visit La Carbona as it is a well-known restaurant in my home town. Obviously, I don't have any complain about the food and service, in fact, the staff was really polite. The only problem was the size... More

Something definitely to do in Jerez. Understanding the history of this tasty bevvy was a change to our normal culinary exploits, though it was our reason to venture here. The place was expansive, so you weren't dining on top of each other. Many locals dining, we had a fantastic waitress who took the time to explain things to us extremely... More

My partner had heard of La Carbona from somewhere, we no longer recall where, and she fancied going so off we went. We arrived at about 8.30pm, still early by local standards, to find a huge barn of a place almost entirely empty. Undeterred we pressed on and were greeted nicely and shown to a table where we were presented... More

If you want to have a surprise lunch with a complete tasting of sherry (Palo Cortado, Fino, Olorosso, Manzanilla) and love surprising food then visit this restaurant. We had a great time, pleasant service and creative lunch in a wonderful old surrounding in the city of Jerez.

Great food although service is a little slow. Nice variety of tapas and good local wines. Very clean and modern feel. Well worth a visit.

This restaurant was recommended by the manager of the hotel I was staying in. It turned out to be a great recommendation. It takes a bit of finding but once their I was well looked after by attentive and friendly staff. Food was good. Starters massive! Steak for main course which was perfectly cooked washed down with some very nice... More

The ambiance of La Carbona is fitting for its location. It is an old bodega, whose principal features have been retained in the restaurant's structure and decor - high ceilings, large arches, windows and doors with an interesting central fire / hearth. Felt like we were eating in an old bodega. The service was refined, attentive and effective - a... More

Wonderful setting for a great meal. Fine dining, without scimping on portion size. Innovative and tasty, with attentive, but not Intrusive staff.
