The old town in Caceres is a world heritage centre and it's easy to see why. It is perfectly preserved and you could spend a whole day there. There are lots of exhibitions and museums that are free And others that are really inexpensive. We will go there again.

Fantastic Town great countryside one of the best unesco sites in Spain. It's in Iberico bellota country. It is off the main route, few tourists see this delight. You could change that and you won't regret it.

The old centre of Cáceres is definitely worth a visit, otherwise we did not find this a very attractive town, maybe because of the rainy weather, maybe because we are spoiled with all those beautiful towns in Spain.

From sea level the old town is not visible so follow the sighs up to the old town and enjoy the beautifully preserved Medieval buildings, which are flood lit at night. Walking around takes about half a day, best done in the morning or late afternoon in Summer. Free Museum is also worth a visit.

There are probably thousands of places in Extremadura where you can get "lomo with pan" tapas. If you want to step it up a bit, this place should be your first choice! They have a progressive menu with excellent varieties of tapas. The ones we had tasted very good! They also have a simple way to deal with us giris:... More
