Small, intimate, but with enough space between tables so guests don´t feel cramped, the sole reason to dine here is the full gastronomic experience. No detail is overlooked, from the selection of ingredients, through the table setting and the construction of the menu and wine list, to the service itself. So what´s on offer? The special lunch menu was amazing and fantastic value, we loved every course , our waiter was fantastic, and very patient with us, as we have no Spanish. After ordering a bottle of wine and trying to chose a dish we gave up and had the set lunch...just do it all the courses were amazing. Thankyou

We have visited Caceres previously and disappointed with the choice of restaurants within walking distance of the old town and then we found Madruelo just off the Plaza Mayor. We were the first diners but the restaurant filled to nearly full within 30 minutes. Typically of Spain the restaurant had only just opened at 9.30 p.m. We chose the 'menu... More

Lunch during "Semana Santa". Menu. Presentation was ok, a bit repetitive, but pleasant. Flavours were nothing special, plates looked like they should have tasted better. Reasonable quality, nothing to really remember. Wine recommended in the menu was slightly disappointing.

Excellent food in great environment but our experience of the service was a big negative, as a few other reviewers have mentioned. Long waiting times on a week day lunchtime, a very unhelpful member of staff and a tasting menu that has to be ordered by everyone on a table (why? - it is not paella) really detracted from our... We had a slow-paced meal one afternoon in this well-regarded but not too busy place, right off the Plaza Mayor. Filled with old world ambiance, with floral patterned tablecloths and a high arched ceiling, you know you're "really in Spain." The wine list is varied and filled with local wines. The service was attentive and helpful; we settled on two... More

We arrived at this restaurant with no reservation but they were able to seat us. The table felt like it was in a corridor so lacked atmosphere, however the welcome was friendly. We ordered a half bottle of local wine while we looked at the menu and we were brought a pre-starter of bacalao on toast drizzled with honey, which... More

The set menu for €36 was not just a steal but a great meal. Very well presented meal, tasty and great value. The inclusion of wine at one bottle between 2 is brilliant! Service excellent and would eat there again and again and again....

This was quite posh and expensive. The lunch menu is 36euros,41euros and 51euros.The A-La-Carte entrees costed 15-25euros so we chose the A-La-Carte menu. This restaurant is quite romantic and good with kids!

This restaurant is at least as good as the reviews we read before visiting for lunch. The food was outstanding, the service was warm and friendly and we appreciated not being part of the usual tourist restaurant scene. We thoroughly recommend for any stay in beautiful Caceres.
