And the service was great - we were the only people in there but it's early season. Definitely recommended for a lovely meal
Teddy bears a little freaky but food is nice but small portions - says Jessica aged 10. Parents view: good food, although who ever suggests this should be a Michelin star restaurant has obviously never been to a Michelin star restaurants. Decor: French provincial twee. Teddy bears perhaps a tad freaky.
On a Sunday lunchtime, this restaurant was packed to the rafters such is its popularity. However, with only two waiting staff, it also qualifies as one of the slowest meals I've ever eaten. That aside, the food is superb. With two choices of set menu at 27 euro and 42 euro (the gourmet affair...) the food really is worth the... More
We ate here last Friday when the meal and the service were absolutely superb. The food was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented. The menu short but innovative and the price very reasonable for the quality of the meal. We were warmly welcomed at "front of House" by the chef's wife who has good English and is knowledgeable aout wines as... More
Both my girlfriend and I love good food and good wine. We tried to get into this restaurant one evening but were turned away and so we had to book for Sunday lunch! The lady (owner?) and the chap who does the waiting are exceptional hosts and the food was prepared to a very high standard. I do have one... More
I decided that I wanted to take my girlfriend to Le Touquet to experience fine French cuisine on a recent day trip. Cafe des Artes did not disappoint and was excellent. The lady (who probably was the owner) and the male waiter were excellent, inoffensive and were extremely professional at all times throughout the lunch service. Each course was served... More
We keep returning to Le Cafe des Arts and once again the food was top notch and simply the best during our week in France. The food is sophisticated and well balanced. Everything taste home made. The wine was also excellent. The service is very efficient and friendly. Highly recommended.
Cafe des Arts is one of those places where you feel at home the first time you walk in. The staff is pleasant, the atmosphere elegant and refined, and you just know you're going to like the food. The chef is inventive and always uses the freshest produce. This time, we had sole and cod, and each were delicious. The... More
Very welcoming, nicely set out with decently spaced tables, warm welcome. Menu in French and not an aful lot of English spoken but, as mentioned in other reviews, we are in France so try and meet halfway! Fois gras and a crab salad to start, beautifully presented and the fois gras was superb. We then had a delicious amuse bouche... More
The chef is clearly talented. For entrées we had a crab salad and marinated raw salmon. The main dish was sole (wrapped around potatoes and other seasonings and served with lovely checkers of deliciously spiced spinach and carrots) and cod on a "paella" base of rice. Wine was an Argentinian Malbec that was good value for money. From the menu... More
