A decent evening meal with excellent service at a reasonable price. The two of us had a starter, main course, bottle of wine and coffees for a respectable €57(£43) – there might be better restaurants in Le Touquet but at that price and quality you'd have to be lucky to find them. Well worth a visit.

We decided to have breakfast in Le Matisse, as it "looked" quite nice. However, we were told we could'nt sit "where we wanted", as only certain tables were for breakfast use?? We were placed next to the main front window. The menu, to be honest, isnt that accomodating, or varied. The staff were a little bit pushy towards us, although... More

Been one of the busiest cafes/restaurants on the street we opted to eat here!! Well we wish we hadn't bothered. Once our food had arrived which was just luke warm we found the quality not great. The beef in the beef bourguignon could easily have been some kind of other meat and did not just fall apart like you would... More

This place always seems busy and that is normally a recommendation in itself. However in the case of le matisse it is not true. The venue is good with lots going on and much to see in he street. It has the largest area of street tables in the area but they are heated from overhead and very pleasant. On our visit... More

Great location and the full tables will tempt you in. However.... The food is "ok" and nothing more. We had a mix of steak, pizza, scallops and kids meals. The kids meals were the best with the adult meals served cool and not as requested. Factor in the unbelievably expensive drinks compared to other eateries then your in for a... More

Avoid the moules as they were dry & overcooked. this is clearly a restaurant catering for tourists, with many 'international' type dishes available & whilst the recommended wine was very pleasant the food is really not that great (lots of things are overcooked). Unfortunately my friends & I ended up here because we hadn't booked into another restaurant near by... More

Visited Matisse on a Sunday evening - 4 adults and a baby. Excellent service - very busy but still extremely welcoming. The food was good quality and the outside heaters were on so very pleasant evening - would recommend.

There is a wide-ranging menu with daily specials. The quality is always consistent and the service is friendly. The staff speak English and the menus are in English as well. You can sit outside if you prefer but there are big outdoor heaters when necessary. The inside is big, clean and can accommodate parties of all sizes.
