Do visit this historical place. Its worth the drive. Had the "flæskeæggekage" which is really good and a "hindbærbrus" which tasted fresh and fruity. Beautiful place

This restaurant serves traditional Danish food in the old fashioned way but it's still nice. However you do not come to restaurant for food only. You have to look at the history of this house. Back in World War 2 this was the epicentre of one of the resistance groups and the owner and his helpers were caught by the... More

Hvidsten Kro is on the one side well know, historically, from the resistance group Hvidstensgruppen, during WW2, and on the food side for their famous omelet. We decided to go for the "½ recept", where you get a little bit of everything. The In as very busy when we visited, and maybe this was the reason that the quality of... More

This Danish Kro has got a long history and was also the center point of operations for the Hvidstengruppen, a Danish resistance group during World War II. If you have read about it or you have seen the movie, it makes for a nice lunch out in the countryside while you explore the history angle. The place is quite like... More

My father in law was born in Grana Denmark, very close to this restaurant. He remember the German soldiers comming to Denmark, and he remember the family who used to own this property. In our trip to Denmark we cannot go without visiting this place. It was a great experience bot the food, and over all the atmosphere of the... More

we were driving from Germany to Norway and stopped there on 1st June. Well, the temperature outside was 26C and inside probably 32. One bus with pensionists left and we were shown to the table with a bench near the kitchen door...Ordered 2 eggcakes and a sandwich. Took some time and I was terribly disappointed with this lefthandmade omelet with... More

Fantastic food and great service. Portions are simply enormous. The place is also packed with memorabilia from the local resistance movement that was based at Hvidsten Kro during the second World War II.

this very charming place is a small gem, allthough it is old style food - try to taste it, it really is good and well cooked. location is a bit far from everything - but remember they have rooms too. one thing to remember - order the "recept" and taste the old style danish country side food, far from NOMA... My Danish friends, who have become like a second family to me, took me to this restaurant for a traditional Christmas meal. Upon stepping through the door one feels like one has stepped back in time. The place is absolutely charming and consists of several separte rooms. Therefore, it is like visiting someone's home a century or more ago. We... More

The Inn is autentic and very nice to see, but it is transformed into a "host as many guests as possible-place" and the "traditional" egg-cake is nothing less than terrible. Choose instead some open face-sandwich, which might be good - we didn't taste it.
