We were recommended the Auberge by our host at Le Clos de la Garde and it turned out to be a wonderful choice. The food is traditional French cuisine. All the vegetables and meat are locally sourced and the food is cooked fresh to order. The flavours achieved are excellent and while everything on the menu is in French the hostess... More

We came here on recommendation from our Bed and Breakfast Owner which gave us a ride here (long story). We ordered the Menu of the day and it was perfect from start to Finish, beautiful restaurant, superb staff, very quiet and professional. This is how a restaurant should be run, as the courses were spaced apart perfectly, all the food... More

It's not the first time that we have eaten at the Auberge du Val de Vienne, but it is the first time that we have eaten lunch. We met friends there that we haven't seen for a very long time and shared an extremely pleasant and delicious meal. The décor of the restaurant is very traditionally French, with walls of... More

Had the set menu in the evening, couldn't fault it; aperitif, amuse buche, starter, main and cheese, palette cleanse, wine and coffee all for €50 per head.

A great meal in a warm and friendly setting. Lots of little unexpected treats capped off a really great meal. We thought it was great value for the money. The menu had a lot of choice and the host kept surprising us with little tempters in between courses. One of the best meals on our trip.

Our innkeepers recommended this restaurant during our recent vacation to the Loire Valley. Although not in a main town, it was very easy to find and well worth the trip. The restaurant has a warm and inviting antique French library decor. We sat at a lovely table by the fireplace and were pampered from the moment we arrived. Our hostess,... More

We really enjoyed our meal. The food was great, and not expensive for the amount and quality. The place is obviously popular and the atmosphere was good, helped by the chef who came out regularly to chat to customers.

On our way from Chinon to Chateau Rivau (which is not worth the visit. Azay le Rideau and Chenonceau are much better, as is Leonardo da Vinci's place in Amboise, Clos Du Lucé), we came across this non-descript auberge completely by accident. We were glad we stopped. We had an excellent lunch in the stylish dining room. Service was perfect... More

A group of 12 of us ate in the lovely `library` restaurant. Madame had been very helpful with local vignerons to visit and had offered to bring us a picnic to the Vineyard! Luckily we declined as the weather was not fabulous! High quality food, an agreed menu with thier choice of wine included, we all agreed this was a... More
