I ate here early evening mid-week whilst staying at the hotel (reviewed separately on here). The hotel has three eateries; Filini (Italian-themed, mass market), Angel’s Wine Tower (bar snacks) and New York Grill Bar for fine dining. I reserved a table in NYGB on the strength of the menu, which is succinct but with a wide range of dishes. It... More

I had the great pleasure of dining here last week. I was unsure what to expect after such mixed reviews on here. Don't be put off though ok its not cheap but since when was high quality ever cheap? For starter I had the salmon terrine with watercress ice cream, it sounds like a bizarre combination but was actually very... More

We had a brilliant meal here, all served by the very friendliest of staff. My starter was a tasty corn and chowder soup, followed by one of the best bleu steaks I've had in a while. The béarnaise sauce was good, but not the best I've ever had. Dessert was a chocolate parfait. Wine is a bit pricey here as... More

I visited in late April 2014 and I must say I was not welcomed very well: the maitre could not find my reservation and had an attitude which almost made me feel guilty for being there to "disturb". At the end the maitre got me a table saying: "I have got a reservation for a table for one, but this... More

Have eaten here on two occasions each time the food was cooked to order and was of excellent quality. Maitre' D - called Tony is a great character very hospitable and helpful with an excellent sense of humour. He makes this place tick - if I had a restaurant I'd want someone like Tony to run it I have been... More

It was over 3 years since we have last eaten here but found the place quite excellent for our group of 9 people. Service was first class, attentive and professional. Our table ordered a wide range of dishes from the selection on offer and everyone was happy with the taste, quality and quantity. Only complaint is regards to pricing which... More

Upside: well seasoned steak, reasonably cooked. Downside: largely fat. And the pecan pie is 80% raisins (!?raisins?!) -- it takes a special skill to make a pecan pie just this flavourless. Service slow but friendly. Wine list short and pricey. And that's £45 for 1.

It was a pleasure to step into the quiet and calming environment of this restaurant. The food was all "good" - but I want them to catch my eye and do something more creative.

Really not good .. Our dinner was served luke warm and while the menu gives lots of nice terminology, it just doesn't deliver. Nip over to the Hilton at Stanstead and sample the worlds best Burger. You see Mr Raddison, people will walk with their feet, nice hotel, shame about the nosh..
