Life is good

On a sunny, breezy day, lunch at the Oar is a pleasure. The food has gotten better and more interesting.

Always a crowd, great outdoor games and seating. Huge menu with something for everyone. Love the sushi! On rainy days, this is the place to be on Block!

The wait can sometimes be protracted, but there are always distractions for the children, and the food is always worth the wait. We were here with my son, his lovely wife, and our two exceptional grandsons the weekend before Labor Day. But you want to hear about the food. Well it is exceptional too. We shared the crab cakes and... More

we visit the Oar most times we go to Block Island. We love the atmosphere both inside and outside. The wait can be long - but we don't mind - it's such a beautiful spot. we love the sushi, mudslides, fish tacos and more! will be one of our first stops next summer!

Get the tacos! So yummy! Don't be stupid though. If you go in high season expect a wait.... its poplar place. And your server or bartender is trying to make everyone happy. You are not the center of her universe. They want you to have a fabulous time. Relax you're on vacation. The food is coming. And its delicious.

First time over to block island and had lunch there twice. Both times excellent food and service. Like family. Sushi fresh, wraps good. Nothing bad to say about it.

We came here for lunch twice during our BI vacation and loved it. I had the lobster roll, which was really good (not the best I've ever had but very good) and the fried fish sandwich (also very good). My husband got the veggie burger, which was homemade and huge. The view here is so nice and relaxing. Service was... More

My wife and I first stopped at The Oar at New Harbor for a sunset drink. Because of a favorable first-impression, we ended up back there two nights later for dinner when the restaurant we originally intended to go to was closed. Turned out to be a wonderful decision. The seafood was fresh and tasty (as it consistently was at... More

Great views, friendly service, awesome food, I especially liked their sushi selections. The decorations are colorful and fun: oars, oars, oars everywhere! Alongside the walls, hanging under the ceiling, accompanying doorways and staircases - there is so much to see, each of the oars has a different message, fun! During our 2-day-stay on Block Island, we went to this restaurant... More

Great atmosphere and views! Very good food and service. A little crowded but a great place to eat. They offer a wide variety of choices. In fact, so many choices, it was difficult to decide. I went with the sushi.
