The only pub in the country named The Queen's Oak.400 years old & built on a Roman Ruin.A proper English pub serving wholesome homemade British Quisine and a superb range of beverages including cask conditioned real ales. There are plenty of picturesque walks nearby and just opposite is St Micheals Church. We welcome dogs, horses and well behaved children and have a large, safe garden and play area.An excellent venue for a country style wedding, christening or any celebration. We also have a BBQ & Hog Roast. You may get to see Morris Dancers who frequent the pub in the summer months or come and play an old game of Aunt Sally.

lovely pub but ?juke box

We still come back here with my family because we like the friendliness of the place and the food is very good and reasonably priced. Good to see under new ownership that the wine list is much more extensive, but having done that they need to understand a little bit more about wine. I am by no... read more

I have been going to the Queens Oak for many years and have been impressed by the changes that Mark, the new landlord has been making. The change to the decor is very good and makes the pub more welcoming. The menu is very good and the food always of a high standard and well priced - well worth trying.... More

After having tried several pubs in the area, I can say this is the best. Local people, beautiful location, nice beer garden, possibility to have a walk in the area. Food is excellent. A visit is a must.

After a recommendation for this pub we were not disappointed. There were 15 of us that went to celebrate my Dads 65th Birthday. From the booking to paying the bill the staff were excellent and attentive. Only shame was that the weather was so bad the kids couldn't get to enjoy the adventure playground. Oh well means we need to... More

Google maps told me it was closed but I drove to it with my dog and was pleased to find it open. Dog friendly, WiFi, good food good beers. Not a gourmet pub, but we don't always want that. I'll make sure I find an excuse to come again.

Hi, I remember your visit well, what a lovely dog you have; I remember giving the dog a nice refreshing bowl of water. Sadly trip advisor only publishes our food opening times and this then filters onto other websites such as google etc. Our drink opening times are: Monday - Saturday 11am - 23:00pm Sunday: 12pm until 10:30pm Food is... This pub is a very traditional local. The beer is good; the food is not adventurous but its tasty pub grub. There is a snug bar on one side and a larger bar and dining area on the other.

We had lunch at The Queen's Oak on Saturday, six months after our last visit which was far too long. We learned that the pub has changed hands since our last visit but we were pleased to see the friendly, positive attitude of the staff has not changed. Also, most importantly, the chef remains the same! We were given a... More

Were looking for somewhere to host a buffet for 16 people who had attended my Dad's funeral. Had doubts when first entering the pub as it seemed drab and tired but on meeting the owner, we were so impressed by his sensitivity and willingness to ensure the lunch was exactly as we wanted that we decided to book. We were... More

Visited for lunch with friends. Staff were very chatty, friendly and welcoming. The food was all lovely, but the chips especially were amazing! Just could've done with a few more of them. Would definitely visit again.
