The only pub in the country named The Queen's Oak.400 years old & built on a Roman Ruin.A proper English pub serving wholesome homemade British Quisine and a superb range of beverages including cask conditioned real ales. There are plenty of picturesque walks nearby and just opposite is St Micheals Church. We welcome dogs, horses and well behaved children and have a large, safe garden and play area.An excellent venue for a country style wedding, christening or any celebration. We also have a BBQ & Hog Roast. You may get to see Morris Dancers who frequent the pub in the summer months or come and play an old game of Aunt Sally.

Weekday lunch

Welcoming bar staff, good beer and reasonable value "run of the mill" pub fare on the lunchtime menu. The food turned up promptly and was nicely cooked. Nothing to dislike. The pub has received a bit of a facelift décor wise - new bar counter and a lick of paint - which gives it a lighter feel but... read more

Great roast dinner, reasonably priced, nice bit of crackling and well cooked veg and roast potatoes. Also recommended for those who like an old fashioned proper pub with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Well looked after Guinness and a variety of quality real ales, great to find pubs of this type still exist!

Came here on the off chance as I've been told by friends about the food. Well I can tell you that it was worth it. Made a return visit to Queens Oak after a six month gap. Again the food was 'top notch' up to its original standard. Went again for the Queen's Oak Cheese and Bacon burger, which was made with good quality beef locally sourced and home cooked chips. Tried January's guest ale 'Red IPA' which went well with the burger. The pub... More

Two for lunch on Sunday. We were made very welcome and given the only table not booked. So that's a clue that this pub has a following and it is best to make a reservation. The choice ranged from beef/lamb or pork Sunday roast to paninis, sandwiches, mushrooms on toast, mackerel pate, and an interesting 3 from 7 for a... More

I came back here after our Christmas debacle after being told by friends that their Sunday roast was amazing. It wasn't. I'm so angry about how terrible the whole experience was that I dare'nt put it into words, for fear of upsetting younger readers. Needless to say...avoid.

A group of us (4 adults and 4 small children) stumbled on this pub after a walk. Despite the fact that they had a group of 20 arriving, and we hadn't booked anything, they made space for us in their lovely snug. The food was delicious, and the staff were lovely and friendly. Highly recommend it here and we will... More

Surprised at last! Traditional pub very friendly atmosphere . Had casual pub food, very good homemade burger & steak salad. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. The burger lovely flavour and not compressed. Very good value. This pub has been waiting for a good chef, well done . Hope to see you soon.
