The only pub in the country named The Queen's Oak.400 years old & built on a Roman Ruin.A proper English pub serving wholesome homemade British Quisine and a superb range of beverages including cask conditioned real ales. There are plenty of picturesque walks nearby and just opposite is St Micheals Church. We welcome dogs, horses and well behaved children and have a large, safe garden and play area.An excellent venue for a country style wedding, christening or any celebration. We also have a BBQ & Hog Roast. You may get to see Morris Dancers who frequent the pub in the summer months or come and play an old game of Aunt Sally.

lovely pub but ?juke box

After a recommendation for this pub we were not disappointed. There were 15 of us that went to celebrate my Dads 65th Birthday. From the booking to paying the bill the staff were excellent and attentive. Only shame was that the weather was so bad the kids couldn't get to enjoy the adventure playground. Oh well means we need to... More

Google maps told me it was closed but I drove to it with my dog and was pleased to find it open. Dog friendly, WiFi, good food good beers. Not a gourmet pub, but we don't always want that. I'll make sure I find an excuse to come again.

This pub is a very traditional local. The beer is good; the food is not adventurous but its tasty pub grub. There is a snug bar on one side and a larger bar and dining area on the other.

We had lunch at The Queen's Oak on Saturday, six months after our last visit which was far too long. We learned that the pub has changed hands since our last visit but we were pleased to see the friendly, positive attitude of the staff has not changed. Also, most importantly, the chef remains the same! We were given a... More

Were looking for somewhere to host a buffet for 16 people who had attended my Dad's funeral. Had doubts when first entering the pub as it seemed drab and tired but on meeting the owner, we were so impressed by his sensitivity and willingness to ensure the lunch was exactly as we wanted that we decided to book. We were... More

Dear Ann, Thank you for such a charming review, I am delighted that you were happy with the pub and the buffet supplied; as well as the service from my team. It means a lot to me that every event goes 100% to plan, therefore we always tailor each event with the level of service, care and where needed discretion... More

Visited for lunch with friends. Staff were very chatty, friendly and welcoming. The food was all lovely, but the chips especially were amazing! Just could've done with a few more of them. Would definitely visit again.

Me and my partner popped in for some food yesterday and I must say the food was very nice and the staff were extremely friendly! A little too friendly according to my partner as the bar staff were a little too "touchy feely" especially in the gents toilets. anyway...... on to another positive note the drinks were very fairly priced... Came here on a Saturday afternoon with friends and family for a bite to eat. The outside area is nice with plenty of room for the kids to run around, inside could be a lot better and shows a real lack of care for potential dining guests. It's quite tatty and does not make you want to sit and eat... More

Hi I am Mark Kerry the new landlord at The Queen's Oak, Thank you for your review; feedback is always important to me. I am sorry that you felt the decor in the pub was a little tired, although we do agree. I took over the pub on 05/05/15 and this week have had interior designers in planning my refurb.... More
