Description: This family run pub/restaurant prides itself on the high quality, homecooked food that is served 7 days a week. Not only do we provide traditional English dishes, our extensive menu contains a number of different cuisines, to make sure there is something for everyone's taste buds! We offer a variety of dishes ranging from baguettes with tempting fillings for a light snack, to our signature Mixed Grill which is not for the faint hearted! We pride ourselves on using the best british produce, cooked by highly trained chefs. The unique building attracts customers from all over the country and even international visitors. The slanted' floors alone, are worth visiting the business for! The traditional and homely decor provides the perfect surrounding for a family occasion. Visited here as a party of 10 for Christmas. It was brilliant. The staff were really friendly and knew what they were doing. Some members of our group asked unusual questions and they handled them fine. The portions sizes are very hearty and the qualiy of the food is amazing. The chips are the best pub chips I've had for... More

Visited here, with three friends, for a meal. Cannot fault the food which was cooked & served excellently. We each had different meals & the previous sentence applied to all. However, having said that, I felt that the room we were in let this venue down. I had seen other reviews which described it as olde worlde. My view is... More

What a lovely restaurant with great food and drink and superb decorations and memorabilia around the rooms. I only went in one room but found that other rooms were decorated with different themes . I will certainly be visiting again. I haven't even mentioned the food, it was excellent and the puddings which I didn't sample were enormous. A great... More

We visited the Wheatsheaf recently for a Sunday lunch. We hadn't been for a while. Superb, home cooking. Well presented in a nostalgic environment. We were delightfully stuffed! Never had a bad meal there , unlike at some pubs which offer 2 for £10 , frozen meals. Thoroughly recommend!

We've eaten in this pub dozens of times, for many years, and NEVER been dissappointed! The Sunday lunch is the best ever. Just don't think of trying to get in on a Sunday without a reservation
