Enjoyable (good not very good), very large portions

I had a very enjoyable meal at The Gate on Friday evening. My wife and I ordered garlic bread and potato skins to start with. Both were so so to be honest but were quite large in size (I think the garlic break could be shared between 4 as a starter). For mains we had blackened rare rump steak... read more

Lovely evening, be prepared the chilli is very hot, wished that I had been warned as I may have chosen a different meal. Would defiantly visit again but make a different meal choice. Very popular restaurant.

Never ever let down. Without excpetion the food is outstanding, the wine list is brilliant and it's introduced me to some new favourites. Service is great and it is our favourite local dining solution when we want to celebrate, when we want to unwind, when we don't want to cook, doesn't matter what the occassion. If ever we have decided... More

We went here for a family meal and had a nice time. The food was good and reasonably priced, the portions were very generous! The waitresses weren't very attentive, we were left waiting for drinks and then some were forgotten. Overall, good but not brilliant, nice pub food.

We keep going to The Gate because of the excellent food, well kept beers and great atmosphere. The Lunchtime menus and Mexican-styled meals of Burritos and 3 Alarm Chill Beef are excellent; just make sure you are hungry when you order. Great choice, plenty of room and friendly staff.

My partner and I visited here last Saturday after we couldn't get into another fully booked restaurant. Hidden away in a nice spot of Bromsgrove. Not a lot of parking spaces. The restaurant was incredibly smokey (from food) and noisy when we arrived. There is a small section on the left as you walk in, would advise sitting here if... More

Have been coming to The Gate for years and it never fails to impress. We don't tend to book the restaurant, preferring to eat more casually in the bar area, which means we're guaranteed a table after waiting a short while having a drink or sometimes straight away. The Mexcian menu is to die for (it really satisfies my mexican... More
