Reserved a table for 8pm and we were seated promptly - good start. Our waitress Nicola was fantastic and looked after us superbly!! The meal was out of this world! Extremely tasty and plenty of it -Not a drop left on the plate at the end of every course! Deserves this 5 star rating!!

The meal was delicious! When checking in we were offered a deal for the restaurant. We were able to get a voucher for 3 course for £25 instead of £30. You paid this to the hotel and took the voucher to dinner. Lovely surroundings, nice atmosphere and attentive staff.

It is a fabulous restaurant with a stylish interior, good service and mind-blowing food. We had several dinners in this restaurant and were always amazed by the quality of produce and respect to the local ingredients. Beautiful and unexpected combinations and tasty results (especially fish dishes). There was live music playing (lovely duet) in the restaurant during dinner. It completed... More

Not cheap, but beautiful food. Perfectly cooked and staff lovely. We were there at Christmas and they made it very special.

Just returned from The Kailyard, we went an Itison voucher deal, so was £39 instead of £79 for two. This was a 3 course Sunday lunch with wine and tea/coffee with tablet. There was 5 choices in each course. Soup of the day-Lentil and Goats Cheese Tart with beetroot and pear, lovely. We both went for Roast Sirloin with Yorkshire... More

Stayed in the hotel and ate here on the Friday evening. Lovely dining room, with great live vocalist and piano player. We were on a DBB package and the menu probably had about 8 choices for each course - pretty good. We both had the lentil soup ( lovely but more like veg soup than lentil), I had the burger... More

Appealing menu , Scottish vibe and ingredient led. Well cooked food and I enjoyed every mouthful What was so disappointing was the service. Keen young and polite serving staff but so lacking in training. We had mistakes with 2 courses and our wine . All corrected but should not happen and could be easily addressed. I would happily eat there... More

I ate here with my dad recently while staying at the hotel. The room is quite grand in an olde world sense but tastefully updated. The food choices were good with a focus on local Scottish produce, well presented with a decent wine list. I had the steak and it was cooked as requested, rare rather than medium rare and... More

My husband and I went for my birthday lunch today. We arrived and were given a lovely window seat. At that point we weren't given the specials, never were we actually told them. I ordered the shrimp cocktail. Tasted lovely, but so old fashioned looking and in a tiny 175ml wine glass. Shouldn't have had to pay £3 supplement for... More

Not too large a menu or too small a choice. There is a separate vegetarian menu. Food is well cooked, looks good and promptly delivered. Service was attentive but not intrusive.
