We called in for a drink and if after our drink, we thought we may stay for a meal, last month (July 2014) on a warm Sunday afternoon. Haven't visited here for a couple of years despite it not being far from home. Unfortunately we were not at all encouraged either by the welcome by the owner, which was definitely... More

4 of us recently visited this restaurant and It is worth taking a detour for. Extensive menu, with a good choice of local dishes, meats or fish, service was very good and the food was delicious.

We have been traveling in Scotland for 3 weeks and finally discovered this true gem of a restaurant. The best meal by far since our travels. I had the slow cooked pork, and others in my party had the venison, lamb shank slow cooked and the steak with a mushroom sauce. Everyone raved about how excellent everything was prepared. The vegetables... More

Three of us visited the Inn during the recent art festival - the staff made us welcome and we had plenty of time to view the paintings and have coffee. We have sampled the menu on several previous occasions and have always been delighted by the standard and variety of the fare. A tip if you haven't booked a table... More

Sheriffmuir Inn is worth a detour for seasonal, fresh, flavoursome food. As a three generation party of seven, we visited early on a Saturday evening. Everyone found something to tempt them on the a la carte menu or specials board. Some had three courses and coffee, others just one course, but this proved no problem with courses being served quickly... More

Sheriffmuir Inn is my family's favorite restaurant in Scotland, after living in Glasgow for a year and diligently eating our way around the country. It's a stone's throw and a world away from busy Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument -- miles spent winding through hills and pastures to find the tidy old inn. Moira is a welcoming presence, the... More

this little place, well! perfect, yes it is. forget the city centre, this place is right out in the hills. your driving along single track roads, with hills and valleys all around (i remember saying out loud, i've arrived somewhere beautiful). you turn a corner on the edge of a slope, and there it is. A little white building. in... More

And that's one of the prpblems...it's just a little bit too expensive for what it is. My food was average but... More

We live locally, though we're not Scottish, and because we often have visitors we popped in to check out the place/menu. As soon as we bought a drink and said we weren't eating the owner blanked us. Paying for an overpriced drink wasn't good enough for them it seemed. She (the owner) then went into the kitchen where she screeched... More

The Sherrifmuir Inn is out in the country at the end of a twisty drive from Stirling (tip: if unfamiliar with the area then drive via Dunblane - a much easier drive) - and it is well worth the drive. Our second visit here and, whilst slightly disappointed that the black pudding stuffed pork we had last time was not... More
