We chose the Running Horse as it is child-friendly, and we had our 2 year old grandson with us. As part of the Hungry Horse chain the menu is pretty standard, and again child friendly., We made the mistake of going when live football was being screened, so it was hardly suitable for a quiet meal. However, there were plenty... More

Its a large pub which serves large portions of low cost / average food. Surfaces are tacky, and staff are mildly interested in serving you.. The massive portions of food is served quite quickly and is edible but the chip oil needs changing etc. Its a very average experience and could do with a lot of TLC before this venue... More

Me and my family went for a meal on Saturday and we got greeted by very miserable staff that looked like they didn't want to be there. We sat down and had a look at the menu which was sticky and the table was dirty and sticky to. After deciding what we would have to eat we approach the bar... More

We stopped on a Saturday evening after visiting Legoland. The prices were reasonable but the quality of food was not good everything tasted & looked like a ready meal from a supermarket & my meal of chicken breast was almost cold. We defiantly wouldn't go back for food maybe a drink as there seemed to be quite a few people... More

To be fair to them the food was good but the baguette was small not placed well cut up chicken just slipped on it without cut up lettuce, the chicken was dry which although it was £4 I could of brought better from the local supermarket. The bucket with all the knife and forks in wasn't very clean form had... More

I have eaten at this pub several times and have found it very basic. This time I found it was terrible, the seats were dirty and the menus sticky. However we ordered our meals and bought drinks, the glasses didn't look very clean but it wasn't until I had drunk over half of my drink that I saw there was... More

My husband and I went for lunch shortly after the refurb. To say we were underwhelmed would be an understatement. We sat at a table to look at the menu and we stuck to the table top as it was so sticky so we moved but alas that one was sticky too. The food came out over done and it... More

Went to visit my sister in law and we all decided to got the Running Horse for a meal. My wife chose the Sunday roast, I had the 10oz sizzling sirloin with all the trimmings and my sister in law had the steak & ale pie. Ordering was very easy and the food came up fairly quickly. It was all... More

I use the Runner for beers and to watch the footie. I have had food in here but it is very very hit an miss, depends who's working and if they can be bothered! As a drinking place it is good and good value for money with pints starting at £1.99 so one of the cheapest in the area. It... More
