A truly genuine discovery

The place requires a facelift, seriously but we could not believe the sophistication of the food. All dishes were passionately created to combine the freshness of the product with delicate taste buds. Mediterranean products with French tones. Assaggi is the way to go French in Malta. I went to assagghi hoping to get good steak as promised by some advices. I booked online and got confirmation mail but when we showed up our request was not listed. Anyhow we got a table. Unfortunately there was no good selection of steaks but one... Generally the food was good, above average in Malta, a bit pricey but let's... More

Been to Assaggi yesterday for the first time and it was absolutely fantastic! We were 6 food lovers and all our starters main courses and desserts were excellent. Compliments to the Chef for the taste and presentation. We will be back for sure.

Really enjoyed the place and the food...service is friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy....the Capesante: Fresh king scallops, truffle butter, fennel puree and parmesan was the best thing I've ever tried....and my husband also enjoyed his Gamberoni in padella. Very fancy good food at quite affordable prices!

Assaggi was recommended by a friend of mine and I now owe that friend a drink!!!!! Small, cosy restaurant hidden away in St Julians, thought parking would be a hassle but this was also provided. I started with Jerusalem artichoke, caulifower and truffle soup, garnished with king scallop, followed by the rib-eye on the bone - absolutely divine!!!! Service with... More

Small cozy family-run restaurant situated in a quiet area of St. Julians. From the first moment you step into the restaurant you find warm and welcoming faces . Waitress will take you to your table and offers you the menu, which is every day slightly different, based on fresh meats . So you can be absolutely sure that just came... More

Really enjoyed our dinner at Assaggi last week. Service was friendly, knowledgable and efficient. Although it was a little chiily when we first arrived for an early reservation. It warmed up as the restaurant started to fill. But it was the food and wine that really impressed. My wife had the grouper which can so easily be ruined by overcooking.... More

Pre booking problems should have been early warning. Arrived with my wife and 2 adult children at 9 pm as booked. Took 30 minutes to get a drink ordered and a further 15 minutes to get a (set) menu. Starters were served 45 minutes after order and main courses 60 minutes later after numerous protests. It was clear that the... More

Went to Assaggi when I was looking for somewhere casual to eat online, this was not the right choice of restaurant, but after browsing the menu I couldn't resist! Don't skip the starters at Assaggi, they are really something. All in all a wonderful dining experience, attentive service and most of all delicious food with a difference. It is on... More
