These days, it's difficult to 'play gozitano'. Which 'by the book' means heavy (traditional) dishes. Kapunata (Maltese version of ratatouille). The "widow's soup' with Gbejniet (sheep or goat cheese). Fenek (rabbit marinated in wine), etc. Moreover. Tourists in Malta are, today, rather, on the 'modest' side. They come (with a 6-pack from the supermarket). Look at the prices. And go away.... More

I can't really suggest this restaurant, which finally was really not giving anything to remember in my opinion. Food is really average, service seemed poor. There were few othr customers in the room and outside but we had to wait quite long time.

Definitely recommend this for authentic Maltese dishes. The service was great from start to fish. Food delivered fast and very tasty.

This is a lovely little restaurant in one of the quieter roads in St Julian's. It has the feel of a greek taverna, clean and comfortable but not showy. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Portions were very generous and the food was delicious. Spaghetti with rabbit in a wonderful tomato sauce was superb and the grilled tuna... More

Down a little side street away from the main St Julien bar strip you'll find the unpretentious welcoming and proud Gozitan offering a real taste of Gozo .. specialities include a very generous lamb shank which falls off the bone and traditional popular rabbit dishes but be warned don't fill yourself up with the fresh bread and spreads and big... Was excellent: fresh and tasty. After a week there one of the top5 dishes I got. Side dishes were too much for me boiled potatos, fried potatos and sadly for veges you had to pay extra. But the best fish I got during the stay, even more expensive restaurants could not deliver that satisfaction :) ps. Good service!

We enjoyed a family meal of Maltese specialities. Portion sizes are huge, the sucking pig wonderfully succulent. Wine list is good. Very good with our child (high chair provided). Hard to fault.

Avoid like the plague Having been told that my requests didnt compliment each other by the waitress my wife then ordered another glass of wine that she had ordered previously. The waitress brought the wine to my wife who noticed it was different. The waitress after asking 4 times finally brought the wine list over and agreed she gave her... More
