Great food, great atmosphere. What else is there to wish for?

The restaurant is charmingly decorated. The staff are very friendly and servicce-minded. And the (Maltese food) is very delicious. Definitely worth a visit for try the local cosine and have a good time.

Lovely restaurant - agreed somewhat grey, undistinguished exterior, but don't be put off; inside it's comfortable, relaxed, food and service were excellent. we were served complementary breads (these people know how to bake!) and Mediterranean appetisers - olives, butter beans, etc. - all good stuff ! I had the home made chicken broth with celery (and carrot, and potato -... More

Although the outside might not appear welcoming, once inside you feel you're in a well cared for Maltese home. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was warm. The Caravaggio Chenin Blanc is a beautiful tasting, Maltese white wine. The calamari as a starter lacked fuss and tasted fantastic for it. The breaded goats cheese was delicate in taste and... More

The only reason I even considered giving this place less than 5 circles(?) is because it was sweltering hot for the first half of our meal, in the back room of the restaurant where we were seated, because this Russian/Eastern European family had complained before we arrived that they were cold so the air conditioning was turned off. However, as... More

Been at La Maltija Restaurant yesterday and this was my second time, just because you cannot simply visit once. Tranquil and relaxing atmosphere, divine food and very helpful and friendly staff. Amazing experience. Looking forward to my next visit!

I've walked past this place many times, but having read the menu, we decided to eat dinner. Although we passed on a starter, we were given local beans and dip with bead. Our main meals were spot on. The steak was perfectly cooked, and the 'country style lamb' was exactly as I'd imagined. The service was a little slow, but... More

We went to this restaurant on the last night of our holiday. Have been searching for a good traditional restaurant for a while. On arrival, we were greeted by the staff and shown to our table. The restaurant was decorated in all things Maltese and antique. The atmosphere was sombre with classical music playing in the background, a little more... More

The restaurant is not entirely unexpensive, but it is, all things considered, a great value for money. The portions they serve are absolutely huge - a constant source of frustration, because the food is so delicious, but you just can't finish it. The first thing we ever ordered in La Maltija was a mixed shellfish platter for starter. It was... More

Went to La Maltija last night for the first time, but most definitely not the last, to say a proper farewell to my mother and her partner at the end of their extended visit to Malta from overseas. It's fair to say that wanted something a bit special, and we were not disappointed. From the friendly welcome, extremely attentive staff,... More
