Pleasant evening dinner with friends visiting from Liverpool, one of their favourite restaurants in St Julian's. 2 kinds of bruschetta, garlic bread, mozzarella & tomatoes for starters, fish kebab, 2 rib eye, 2 pizza calzone, 2 beef fillet accompanied by roast/fried potatoes, vegetables and salads, wine beer soft drinks and water. Icecream and cheese cake + liqueurs.

The location of this restaurant on Spinola Bay gives wonderful views from any table. The food is very nice and plenty of choice. We have bruscetta and pasta during lunch and washed it down with a nice NZ Sauvingnon Blanc which was reasonable priced. Well worth a visit or two.

Food was nice although very small portions (unusual for Malta), service was ok but restaurant was quiet when we arrived and as it got busier you could see the staff struggling to keep on top. Our waiter spoke no English which wasn't a massive issue but made things slightly harder to do. Beautiful setting and lovely views but definitely nicer... More

I've rated the restaurant as average as didn't eat here. We had drinks on the terrace a few days. We ordered rose wine and it was a very nice bottle of local wine (€10.60). The terrace does get busy, probably because it is in such a good location on the bay. It was a lovely place to sit and look... More

I like this restaurant! I had grilled swordfish with a salad and baked potato accompanied by a half bottle of dry white Special Reserve wine, which all came to about 22 euros. I ate indoors, but there is a nice terrace overlooking the bay. Raffael and the next-door San Giuliano are old boathouses built in the 17th century by the... More

Been there on a sunday afternoon. The place was packed but we managed to find a table. A group of around 6 people sitting next to us were complaining to the waiter that he keeps forgetting them. That wasnt a good start. Then the wait for menus began..we were discussing if we should leave or stay, but decided to give it... More

Been here a few times. Same exact menu you find on so many Maltese tourist restaraunts (do they all just copy each other?) - not even many Maltese dishes, mostly Italian. Regardless sitting on Spinola bay with a light breeze is excellent. However the service there is terrible. Last night I sat there watching 6 tables struggle to order or... More

My friend and I visited St.Rafeal's on a Sunday afternoon. With such a prestigious setting, you'd expect a wonderful visit but it was a total let down. We sat at a table overlooking the port and were seemingly ignored until I had to signal the waiter to order wine and water as well as our food. Following a half and... More
