I took my girlfriend here for a treat and we were not disappointed. The food was lovely and also plentiful which cant always be said when fine dining. The service was welcoming and friendly and was all topped off with a pint of 'Sunshine'. Will definately return.

The waitresses were lovely, really helpful. The menu was extensive, something for everyone. The food delicious. The landlady however was quite cold and unfriendly. It felt like she really didn't want to be there. Such a shame as it's a gem of a place.

Great to see a business with a personal touch. Not sure about previous reports of not meeting individual needs and arriving late for their booking but in terms of the trip advisor judging criteria this establishment is excellent and well worth a visit. We need to page places like this and be realistic

Can't believe what I have read on here. Booked a table for 6, on Friday 28th, received a warm welcome. Orded drinks at the bar while we waited for 2 to arrive. We sat down and waited for the rest of our party to arrive. When they arrive they gave us time to look at the menu board before asking... More

First visit to this restaurant and will be our last! Booked a table for 6pm and after a family crisis we arrived just 5 minutes late. No-one else was in the restaurant when we got there and were told that they thought we weren't going to turn up because we were FIVE MINUTES LATE! Apparently they had expected us to... More

Rang up for a table for 5 and said that one of the party had allergies to onions so if there was a sauce with the dish he ordered could they do one without onions, to which the reply was no as the sauces were pre-prepared, another party member was a vegetarian and did they cater for that to which... Heard such good reviews but was a tad disappointed if I'm honest. We wanted a table at 1 pm but was told there wasn't one available only at 12.45 pm so we went for that. However when we arrived there were 4 or 5 tables spare! I ordered the roast pork which was quite tough and dry and you only... More

We had a lovely meal at the White Bear. The atmosphere was great: a combination of diners and people at the bar enjoying drinks. Our table was next to a cosy log burner. Although the place was busy, we were dealt with promptly and our meals were all perfectly cooked. I had the sirloin steak and it was amazing. I... More
