Went last night and was pleasantly surprised. I find most city centre restaurants to be low value and bad service but this was different. I am a regular at the Italian kitchen in Sunderland and this is still the best for quality and value. Food here was nice but wasn't as described in the menu (some ingredients/items missing). The thing... More

Went with approx 15 friends. Missed happy hour even though it states on window they do a 3 course special every evening all evening but was told we were mistaken but looked again and it was on there! Ordered hummous and pitta bread for starter. Only had half a pitta bread which wasn't nearly enough for the hummous or to... More

I visited this restaurant last night with a group of friends and we all had starters and mains. The starter was lovely- I had juicy tiger prawns in inferno sauce. However, wasn't really very spicy at all. I ordered the fillet surf and turf and my friend ordered the lobster ravioli. I ordered my steak medium well done, stating I... More

Me and my boyfriend recently went to 'Simply Italy' which used to be called Eataly and we couldn't fault it at all ! I'd went the week before with friends and loved it and decided to take my boyfriend who is especially picky, but he loved it. We went for the 3 courses for £10 and with a wide selection... More

Eataly is now called Simply Italy. Visited here in early July, had booked a table in advance. 1. The service here is great, head waiter is friendly and asked our names and spoke to us after our meal not disturbing us throughout which is the way it should be. Offered to hold our main course while we chatted and drank... More

Went here for my 20th birthday meal at the end of June 2014. After 6 you can get a three course meal for 9.99 (don't think this applies on Saturday but it's worth checking) nice fast service, lovely friendly staff and overall lovely food and also very filling. Would definitely go back here for another meal soon.

Visited Friday 25th April 2014 as a party of 9 friends. Service was attentive and quick. Portions were ample - especially the starters which were huge! Everyone enjoyed their meal with no complaints. Definitely worth a return visit
