Tasty burgers if that is your choice

The cafe is a little dark and cramp ed but we were welcomed warmly. We had read on tripadvisor that our own hotel's food was expensive and not great and that this cafe served the best burgers. There was not a huge choice and EVERY choice had cheese on it - Norway is not a great place for the... read more

Seeking an early dinner one day, my partner and I decided to try Sofia's due to its fantastic reviews and close proximity to our hotel. You can view the menu online, and to portions were generous and very affordable considering Norwegian prices! The club sandwich, with sautéed potatoes was wonderful! We sat outside, so couldn't comment much on the decor,... More

Having looked for a close by restaurant to the hotel this restaurant is the closest, always try the fish of the day as it is something regional or local like trout, you can sit outside and enjoy a lovely summer evening in nice surroundings, the prices are okay and the staff is very friendly

Sofa's cafe is a small restaurant with very good service and the best burger I have ever eaten. The price is reasonable. I would definitely return.

We had the 'jim' s burger' and the Caesar salad. Total cost around £35 so typical Norwegian prices. Beautifully cooked and well presented burger and a couple of glasses of iced tap water to wash it all down with. A nice place.

This restaurant is pleasant and the food is well presented. They have a more extensive menu but we stuck to bergers and club sandwiches. They were ok. My was the gluten, lactose free option and possibly suffered for this, but it was good to have the chance to eat a burger with everyone else. The surroundings are very pleasant and... More

We stayed for one week in Geilo. When we asked our hotel to book a good restaurant in town, Sofia Cafe came top of the list. We were there with our 3y kid and we enjoy every minut there: warm place, very friendly & good (rare in this city) service by professional people. Food was also excellent: good balance between... We have been to this awesome little boutique restaurant 2 years on the trot, the first year as a couple and the second as the full family with two young children (8&5 years). We visited this year on Christmas Day and it was phenomenal. The Reindeer is mouthwatering as is the beef, and the children's menu is small but perfect... More

This restaurant was recommended by staff at our hotel. It was a 30 minute walk and we wondered why she sent us to a place so far from our hotel. After arriving it became obvious that this was a special place. It has its own bakery so the bread was fresh. All four of us enjoyed our sandwiches and salads.... More

Lunch at Sofias is a must when visiting Geilo. Try one of their sandwiches, personal favourites are the Club sandwich and the Pulled pork. Beware: the sadwiches are huge! They also serve nice dinners, and have the best spareribs west of Oslo:-) The service is prima, and the localities nice. They also sell fresh bread, olives, sweets and other goodies... More
