Ate there on Sat 15th with a friend who was staying the weekend with me.Had seen decent reviews but most were for sunday lunch. It was very busy in the main bar but that doesnt excuse the very poor service we had in the restaurant. Continually had to chase up the staff to order, then long wait for main and unbelievable wait... More

A nice cosy pub with a traditional feel. We visited on a Friday night & were seen by a friendly member of staff fairly quickly. We followed the waitresses advice & ordered the steak & ale pie which was lovely. It came with homemade chips, which to be honest didn't look brilliant but tasted good! We also had a good... More

Eat in the restaurant last Saturday night. The only attention we had was first receiving the menu. After that it was all donw hill. Had to find staff to order. Was close to chasing when the two steaks had not arrived after 30 minutes. The fillet steaks were excellent, although the chips were very soggy. Had to go and find... More

First time but won't be the last! The food was the best I've had in a pub since I don't know when, beef pork and turkey loads of hot veg, perfect crackling, even offered to do 'take away' desserts (included in the price) if we were too stuffed to eat them!!!! Never had that before ;0)

Set in the heart of old town Llantrisant the Bear offers a fantastic day, evening or Sunday carvery meal. I go often!!!! Lush food, huge steaks, delicious sauces and home made chips. Try the sambuca sauce! Or even the massive venison steaks. Very reasonable drinks, fabulous atmosphere and very good service. And to add to it there is a massive... More

Had Sunday lunch at the Bear Inn last Sunday. It was lovely, the food was fabulous, real gravy and piping hot veg. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. Would recommend you try this pub for your next Sunday lunch. Enjoy!
