Nice local

Popped in he whilst on holiday in the village. Good ale, good pub food (the pizza was great) good atmosphere. Cakes at the bar for £2 on the night made a nice treat to take home and enjoy with a coffee back at the cottage.

Amazing ale - didn't eat - but looked really excellent. Bar staff super friendly, and did I mention the Ale? :)

Had a lovely meal with friends here. We were staying at the campsite up the road. The staff were very accommodating as we called an hour before to say we had a dog so they put us in the tap room for our meal so we could bring him. I liked the idea of no children's menu just smaller portions... More

Nice place with very friendly and helpful staff. The night we ate here, they had a band set up just outside, playing rock classics. The pub is obviously popular with the campers from the nearby site and caters accordingly but they also produce some food which is aiming at haute cuisine. The execution was very slightly below the standard they... More

I recently visited this pub for Sunday Lunch as part of a small family reunion. On a Sunday this place serves a carver plus a limited main menu and some specials. Firstly something that we as a group felt was not necessary was the presence of a guitarist. I am not against live music in any way, as it can... More

Booked a table for 14, and they catered for us very well. Minimal waiting etc. starter of home made blue cheese was good, if a little light on the cheese. But home made crisps were an absolute winner! We all got very excited when bowls of them were brought out! The carvery meat was very good, the pork absolutely excellent.... More

Very busy this evening. Bar staff very good. Had eaten here yesterday and decided to eat again tonight however food was bland. We are staying at a nearby campsite. The bar staff had to ask if the chef could do cheese on chips? When they came the cheese had melted and solidified. Ambience good.

A very popular pub probably due to the campsite further up the road. Dog friendly, average looking pub menu, priced well.

What a shame we left it so late! pub is closed on Monday and Tuesday so we didn't really have much choice but it was well worth the visit. VEGANs catered for! Yes...two of my tribe could actually eat in a pub and enjoy the visit. We were made very welcome and served with delicious food and most importantly great... More

Stopped here for a bite to eat with our 2 young children. The land lord and land lady were really welcoming and came across with colouring books and crayons. Food was really tasty and the boys were really happy to have a chip butty! The landlord and landlady were really friendly and chatty which made for a very pleasant atmosphere.... More
