Excellent food, friendly, relaxing atmosphere

Really enjoyed our evening - great quality food. Old favourites and something a little different to choose from on the menu. Friendly landlord and competent staff provide an enjoyable dining experience. Thoroughly recommended.

Great beer, fantastic food, local menu, friendly landlord, lovely atmosphere, reasonably priced, couldn't ask for more. It's off the main road but well worth a small detour. I will most certainly be back!

This is a truly great village pub, with the bar full of locals. Comfortable outside seating in the rear garden for the summer, and cosy and warm in the winter. I have visited here several times whilst visiting relatives, and on New Years Eve had a large family dinner here. So, I thought that it was time to give the... More

Popped in on a quiet Tuesday afternoon for a quick lunch en route to London to avoid yet another service station sandwich. Our second visit to this very friendly and well priced gourmet pub/restaurant. Menu to suit all tastes, excellently presented and with very sociable and at tentative staff. High recommended location for people wanting a hidden gem

Friendly pub restaurant with a wide selection of menu choices and really friendly service. The venison steak was superb.

My main reason for visiting this pub was the draw of the real ales and I was not disappointed. Tip Top Ales served by a very enthusiastic and professional young couple with excellent food. The visit was only made possible with the assistance of Rob the landlord and I can't thank him enough for that

Popped in here for lunch following a trip to a local spa. Well worth the visit, we couldn't have been made more welcome and the real fire makes it so cosy. Great food. We're going back in the new year.

A charming olde-worlde stone-built inn at heart of a lovely village. Good parking and outdoor seating areas. This was a Sunday lunch visit after many years absence.. Welcomed by genial owner, an open fire, excellent real ales, food and highly pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. A local MG car owners club gathering for lunch, and evidently not for the fist time,... We visited the Queens Head two nights running, a Weds and Thurs, whilst staying at the nearby New Lodge Farm during half term. The food is lovely, pie night particularly enjoyable as the service was much much better. I think this is due to the landlady serving us on the second night - she was much more responsive and the...
