Great pub

Had such a nice time here - visited for lunch last week with elderly parents and young child, and the pub catered very pleasantly for all. A really nice vibe - not over-done, but a proper local country pub (albeit a very pretty one) with the inside left to speak for itself. We liked that a lot... read more

I have such mixed feelings about this pub. We were greeted and shown to our table, which we had pre-booked and took the drinks we had purchased at the bar, with us. Our order was taken shortly afterwards, and we ordered a bottle of wine to have with our meal. Some time later a table of 5 people came in,... More

I really want to give this pub restaurant a high rating. It has so much going for it; it is a lovely old building reeking of character with a good manager, friendly staff and good beer. It’s just that the food lets it down badly. Three of us visited the Queen’s Head in May. My wife and I shared a... More

Stopped in for Sunday lunch after a day out at Rockingham Speedway (only a short trip away). The pub is a beautiful building, well decorated and has some lovely outside seating. We ate in the bar as the restaurant full, all areas are finished really nicely. The welcome was not just warm and friendly, but the owner seemed genuinely interested... More

We hadn't been here for a few years and thought we would call in for a quick lunch - excellent decision. The Queen's Head is a quintessentially English country pub in a beautiful little village - stone cottages, thatched rooves, large old church. It was a miserable summer's day that was cheered up by a visit to this excellent little... More

All the positive reviews I saw (now that I have realised what a well known place it is) apply. We came along here by accident on our way to Lincoln and had a wonderful lunch. Ploughman's is the best we ever had and the atmosphere both inside and outside is lovely. Attention to the detail and a warm service and... More

Just saw the sign for the CAMRA pub at the turn off to Bulwick. Sat outside in the sunshine watching swallows returning with food to their Nest and a red kite hovering overhead - a perfect day and a perfect location. Had the homemade pie with mash and veg - swede, peas and leeks. This was followed by tarte citron... More
