Yet another great Sunday lunch at the Hare & Hounds, Lingfield; The beef was superbly cooked and I still commend it to all...the newly refurbished restaurant area is great and conducive to calm, the windows overlooks fields.

I have read a few poor reviews of the Hare and Hounds and was puzzled. I have always had a very good meal there. I arrived today and found only four other dinners. The two waitresses chatted to each other and the barman for a good ten minutes and finally one cam over with the menus. The attitude was casual... More

I will keep it short: Cold, No atmosphere, interior and exterior decor very tired, terrible smell in car park (smelt like sewage), Gents wash room floor area saturated in front of urinal troth, had no hot water, no soap, the hand dryer was out of order but there was a small grubby towel for all to share the use of... This atmospheric little country pub was just the place to stop off during the Christmas holiday period. A very friendly welcome from bright and cheerful staff who were attentive and helpful. We were offered a welcoming glass of mulled wine or proscetto - a very nice touch - then delicious nibbles were available. We had an enjoyable afternoon visit, but... More

We have eaten here many times over the years and it never disappoints. It has a good atmosphere and super menu with pub classics and some super french dishes - best crab bisque I have hand in this country. We love it for the french menu as we have a house in the south of France, it is so refreshing... More

Food was superb; modern, tasty and beautifully presented. Slightly on the expensive side but completely worth it. Will definitely return.

This is our local pub where we spend far too many Friday evenings! A family group with ages 88 down to 20, and ordering everything from the pub classic ham egg and chips up to the foie gras and confit duck legs, we are almost always very happy with the food and service. Staff are helpful and attentive, the wine... More

Attractive pub with a great chef. We had a delicious meal and the welcome and service were great. Our lift home let us down so we had to wait for a taxi which arrived after closing time. The staff were lovely and insisted we stay in the warm and offered to make us tea/coffee while we waited.

Interesting menu, tasty food and lovely pub. Was very much more restaurant than pub, very quiet - friendly service. Only complaint was being told they were very short on bread, when we asked for more (after two small pieces). Which seemed a little strange on a Saturday night right at the beginning of service. The bread we had was very... More

We eat at The Hare 2 or 3 times a year, and I always come away feeling, that although it is not cheap, it is so good, worth every penny. Other pubs may be cheaper, but I always feel I could have cooked it better myself and leave disappointed, but not at The Hare, just delicious food. I must try... More
