Description: The Bull Inn, Wimborne St Giles, has been transformed from what was a very tired looking village pub near the Cranborne chase in to what is now a comfortable, light, yet firmly rural destination. The menu offers delicious modern British cooking at its best, prepared by our Chef, Ian Craddock. From dishes such as home cooked venison pies to salt baked Bream, there is something for everyone using local ingredients in the daily changing menu. The wine list offers an array of wines by the glass, along with a changing bin end list offering superb value Chateaux & Domaines from France. We have three real ale pumps on hand to quench the thirst, with ales from local brewers.

The food on previous visits was satisfactory but, disappointingly, standards seem to have slipped. I was looking forward to a traditional Sunday lunch but what was offered bore minimal resemblance to my idea of roast lamb. I doubt that the roasting had taken place that day - the slices of meat were suspiciously, geometrically precise and cooked through to supermarket... More

Stayed July 19th for 1 night for our anniversary. Arrived early afternoon, checked in to the Superior room. Lovely room, large comfortable bed, freestanding bath in a large bathroom. Then had a wander round the very pretty village. On return to The Bull we enjoyed a couple of ciders in the peaceful garden . In the Evening we had a Delicious... More

Although they didnt officlally open until mid day the staff agreed to open early for us as we were desperate for a cup of tea!! They made us fresh home made croissants with jam and fresh coffee which we drank outside in the garden in the summer sun...perfect! They were very friendly and chatted to us about the history of... The best roast I've eaten out, ever (and I've sampled more than a few)... Generous portions, good quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. At the higher end what you'd expect to pay for a Sunday roast but I would say it was justified and therefore value for money. If you can manage more than one course there are multiple course... More

Second time here for lunch. Sat in the garden with grandchildren. Food was very good, lamb delicious, cod tastey and vegetable lasagna superior to other veggie meals elsewhere. Beer was perfect and service was good. A relaxing Sunday lunch. Oh and generous cheese board.

The place has been well fitted out in a modern style and offers an extensive range of food from light bites through to a full a la carte menu. You can see the chefs preparing your food which is cooked to order and well presented. The wines are good and reasonably priced. Altogether a wonderful dining experience such that we... More

Had a fantastic meal at The Bull at Wimborne St Giles. It is a little more pricey than other pubs in the area, but the food is excellent quality, there is a good choice, and the chef is willing to put something different together for dietary requirements. I'd rather pay a little more for a great meal and good wine.

I stayed here for 2 nights in May. I booked a single room which was perfect for me. The staff are wonderful, the breakfast is excellent. The location is a little piece of heaven!

We were welcomed and served for a pre-meal drink politely and attentively. The meal itself was very good. There was a limited choice but still plenty enough to whet the appetite. The mushroom and garlic soup with garlic was delightful. No lamb available so we went for the duck which was succulent and well cooked and presented. Too full to... More

My family and mother were really looking forward to enjoying a splendid meal yesterday, even though the almost £30 per head seemed a trifle steep. So, we expected a great deal but sadly the food I would say was well below par. Firstly, I had no idea that the menu would be very limited on an occasion such as Mothering... More
