Great meal, lovely stay

My wife and I had a wonderful meal at The Bull a couple of weeks ago. I am so pleased that the Bull is looking very good again now as we used to use it quite a lot 20 odd years ago. The meal we had was absolutely delicious, I had the cured Mackerel to start which was fantastic as... read more

Such a shame - turned up at the bar - waited 3 minutes to get served - bar staff chatting to locals and more interested in them than new customers so we left in disgust - used to go here often but never again - what a shame - hope they will be shut down in less than 3 months!

This was our second visit to this restaurant in just over 3 months and it was as good as the first. Wonderful food in charming surroundings and top service. If you are in East Dorset and want something special you should try this restaurant. Top trained chef, great menus. We will be back

although living in Wimborne for 3 years we have never visited The Bull but heard from friends that "food is now better" .We gave it a lunchtime whirl. what a lovely place in an unspoilt village, excellent wine list and menu from bar snacks to a la carte. Matt well experienced in catering had taken it over 2 months ago... More

We went to the restaurant today for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and well presented. Three of our party of four wanted a slight change to their main courses and the manager came out and made sure that we were happy with the changes. The atmosphere was lively and the decor comfortable and trendy. We will... More

We went here with five adults two small lively children. We were first guests there so service was good and a lot of tolerance for our rather naughty grandchildren. Kids food came first, very thoughtful. While we were waiting for mains they served bread and a delicious small cup of leak and potato soup. The cod off the fixed price... More

We haven't been to The Bull for some time and didn't know that it had changed hands and been 'refurbished'. Such a shame - the atmosphere has completely gone. Some of the food was ok, but it took far too long to arrive. Considering we were the only people there, this was surprising. Don't know what happens when the restaurant... More

We have not visited this pub for many years and before it had a make-over. It has lost some of its character but promises lots. The 3 of us had 'fish and chips' and it was reckoned that the fish had been frozen because it fell apart, a steak and ale pie which had lots of gravy but only 5... More

A fantastic first visit to The Bull - warming wood burners, friendly, welcoming staff, great service and without doubt the very best pub meal. The homemade faggots are truly amazing - highly recommend a homemade scotch egg (or two) and bowl of homemade pork scratchings from the bar. So impressed we booked four tickets for New Years Eve - all... More

I had been meaning to visit for a meal for ages but then it closed for a mini refurbishment and I then discovered the kitchen is being run by Matt of Fish Face Catering, whose food I have tasted and enjoyed elsewhere. So that clinched it. Although it is in the middle of nowhere, there was a good crowd of... More
