Brunch

Great spot for Sunday Brunch. Definitely make reservations. Tempura shrimp was probably my favorite, along with the typical crab claws at this type of brunch. The two things that probably increased the rating were the signature drink "Federico" which tasted like a fruit smoothy with alcohol. Very... read more

We arrived just after sunset, after drinks at the Copper Bar at Meana Kea. We were graciously greeted and escorted to a table immediately overlooking the ocean. We had curry chicken and the fish special of the night--Marlin. The meals were perfectly prepared and flavorful. Our server was attentive, but not hovering. We found a very nice white Bordeux that... We were here for the first time on 1/28. We were seated outside with the perfect view of the sunset, and it just got better from there. Excellent service, awesome food! We will definitely make this our "special" night out the next time we are here.

Recently, I had the pleasure of experiencing Sunday Brunch at Manta at the Mauna Kea Resort. It was a truly scintillating experience that I highly recommend! I also recommend that you make a reservation. There was an excellent array of delightful delectables- something to tantalise even the most discerning tastebuds. It ran the gamut from choices of various salads, to... More

The more casual spot at the Mauna Kea has better food. While Manta's has a great location and wonderful ambience, the food doesn't measure up. We had the special marlin entree ($44), which was overcooked and tough, with a few undercooked vegetables. The butterhead lettuce salad ($16) was coated with a thick oily dressing that detracted from the otherwise fresh... More

Every time we come to the Big Island we eat here - even if we're not staying at the Mauna Kea. This year was no different. Barry who runs the restaurant is so nice and he remembers us every year. The really take care of you and make you feel like family. The food is spectacular and they have great... More

What a beautiful view to enjoy Sunday brunch. The food here is top notch, fresh, expensive, but worth the price! There was so much variety of hot and cold entrees to choose from, even sushi and dim sum. I didn't have room left for omelet, but I did make sure I had dessert. We will return soon. The only thing... Expensive, but you get top quality from the setting (overlooking mantas on the ocean, five star service hands down, and excellent food and drink. All was amazing from salad to appetizers, mains, deserts. We went on our last night as we were stating at the Mauna Kea which was a mistake. We should have come first, and I am sure... More

You'd be hard-pressed to find a more beautiful setting for dinner. The open-air restaurant is beautifully situated in a tropical garden setting overlooking torch-lit paths to the beach. The service, food and wine list were all excellent.

On Nov 08, 2015, our family visited the MKB for their Sunday Brunch. This was not our first visit to the brunch and as usual the food and service was outstanding!! The Ahi sashimi, peeled chilled shrimp and crab claws were great! As well as the lox, tempura selections and the made to order sushi! The dessert selection was fresh,... More
