Friends raved about this place. Best Burgers EVER they said. Wrong! I like the idea, I like the history of the place and I liked the soup. But the burgers? Pretty standard. The bread was fairly dry and the burger was ordinary. Chips were nothing special. Yes, its different, yes there are characters there. But its on the street with... More

1. The atmosphere 2. The open fire 3. The characters behind the counter 4. The characters around the fire 5. The pea & ham soup 6. The chips 7. Late night service 8. The location (in historic beautiful Guildford) Ok so some say the burgers aren't that great (I disagree - they are a homestyle burger not a yuppie burger)... More

So after much hype and praise for Alfred's Kitchen we decided to give it a try, and what a dissapointment. I went it open minded overlooking all the high recommendations but though the masses can't be wrong. Oh how wrong they are. I've eaten better burgers in the most remote locations in WA where you'd expect a sloppy slapped together... More

Probably the best burgers in the west. The outdoor log fire on a winters night with a great burger is a great finish to the day. Try the "Works"

Love the hamburgers, chips and soup. Eat standing up on the pavement or sit around the fire. No tables but this place defines takeaway!

When I first moved to Perth, heaps of people kept telling me to try Alfred's. I'm so glad I did. Every different burger I've tried has been delicious, but the Alfred's Special is my favourite. It's three slices of toast loaded up with meat patties, bacon, cheese, egg, salad and gerkin relish. Delicious. The famous pea and ham soup and... More

Went there today for a burger and chips for the first time in what feels like years. Food's better than the big burger chains, and it's worth going to for the atmosphere. There's a good selection of burgers available, and the chips are great.

Situated on the side of Guilford Road near Meadow Street. Outdoor service or takeaway only. Love Alfreds, Nothing special about the food, but good, hearty burgers, reasonable price and atmosphere plus with a log fire always burning. Pea and ham soup is legendary. Nice to know some things dont change.

Couples, Family, Business, Solo - or Friends are the options we have to choose from.. Whenever I have guests from overseas, Alfreds is top of the list for at least the first meal in Perth.. The welcoming log fire is always a real treat when it is shared among many. Guildford was a sedate country town last century - with... More

Alfreds is a very old institution loved by many people from Perth and afar. They have a good range of burgers (their vege burger is a great one for us non meat eaters) and I'm told their Pea and Ham Soup is what makes them famous. Nestled in historic Guildford town centre, they are located right against the train line... More
