My partner and I would regularly eat at the Nelson due to the nice atmosphere and good food - on average about 2-3 times a month sometimes more - until a few months ago. We both ordered rib eye steaks - rare. - something we had ordered many times before. My steak was very thin and was medium to well... More

Just what you want from a pub - nice staff, proper beer and an interesting menu. The main menu was fine (homemade pie was excellent), but the specials board more unusual including sea bass and duck with stir fry vegetables. All very good, nice deserts, prompt service, well priced. We've eaten here a few times now and intend to return... More

Very relaxed atmosphere, staff very polite and friendly , comfortable surroundings. Food the best I've eaten in a long time. Downfall, long wait for food. The reason we were told the chef won't let it leave the kitchen until it is perfect. Not a problem as it was worth the wait.

We had wanted to visit Marshfield for some time for a meal, although very close to home, never seemed to get there. So on Wednesday night decided I didn't want to cook and visited Marshfield and The Lord Nelson inn . It is obviously a place where locals feel comfortable and it's obvious why, we were greeted very warmly and... More

We stopped here for a refreshment during a long cycle from London to Cardiff. Couldn't have been made more welcome. We were given some homemade shortbread to help build up our energy for the road ahead. We would have liked to have stayed longer!

Exploring the beautiful village of Marshfield we went into this inn for some lunch. Turned out to be an excellent decision. The food was of high quality, well cooked and presented with very friendly and attentive staff. The portions were very generous.

Liked just about everything. This was close to our B&B. In truth we could have done with a longer walk back. But that was down to us and liking the menu too much.
