This pub has been one if my locals for the last 20 years. If you want to come here for a few beers and have a chat with your mates then fine. But even though the food is cheap, it is dried up microwave rubbish! I ordered a curry that literally looked like a supermarket microwave meal and they had... More

Visited the Talbot, lunch time on the 31st. Had booked a table for 6. The pub was busy but not packed. Once seated and food ordered, it didn't take long to arrive at the table. This continued throughout our stay, With enough time between serving for the food to go down. The staff couldn't do enough for us and it... More

My wife and two children decided to visit the Talbot on a Saturday lunch time and we are glad we did! We have been to many of these 'chain pubs' such as hungry horse, sizzling pubs etc and it is usually a bit hit or miss bit not the Talbot. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a... More

Visited with friends while away on business and was pleasently surprised. Pleasent surroundings, polite staff and fairly good food at a reasonably price. Would happily use again

For a pub serving cheap food in a large restaurant chain you would think that the Talbot would have got it together, but no, it's a dismal failure on just about every front. On the occasion we visited there were no more than a dozen people eating and yet after ordering it took over three quarters of an hour for... More

Visited with family. Decor is tired making it hard to keep looking 'clean'. 45 min wait for food - but in fairness they did warn us of the wait on ordering. The place was packed and seemed short staffed. I must say though things changed when I complained and asked for the Manager. A 'clean-cut' young chap arrived (Simon?) and... More

Went here one weekend, as we felt like a night off cooking. Had a drink whilst waiting for our food. Mine came out ok, but my partner's was stone cold. Manager was very helpful and so on, but won't be going back.

A change of Management can sometimes make a world of difference! As new manager took over a couple of months ago, service & the quality of the food have certainly improved. Pub interior is still looking tired & could do with a makeover, but the menu also has changed, this is the third time I've been in for a meal,... More
