Have had meals in this 'Fayre & Square' pub twice in the last two weeks - Two Sunday Roasts at £5 each and, on an evening, 2 steaks (5 oz) with chips, peas, mushrooms etc at £5 each. Did not order the inexpensive desserts, but others in the pub did and they looked ok for the price. Both meals were... More

We have been here several times for Sunday lunch and the food has always been good and value for money but someone needs to get on top of the cleaning and teach the young staff the importance of clearing and cleaning the tables, watching them remove a plate at a time or take away a few glasses but not return... Get what you pay for. Sometimes very good, other times lacking. Tables and menus need cleaning more thoroughly, very sticky.

Went to the open mike night at The Talbot yesterday evening and ate while there. This isn't a pub for a special meal if you likw gourmet cooking but for some food for convenience it is just fine and reasonably priced too. I had carribean vegetable curry and was pleasantly surprised. Must add though that the huge pink cakes on... More

Lovely pub, food was excellent, but was a bit slow in coming,it is not an atmosphere pub, it's purely a great place to eat, at a very reasonable price. There can sometimes be a bit of a queue at the bar as it is very busy, but worth the wait.

Busy pub chain. Large portions at cheap prices. Only had one ale available when I went which was very disappointing as I'd booked the local hotel because of this pub.
