Havent been here for a while, but sorry to say it wasnt a nice visit. The food took ages to arrive and was on the substandard side. Bordering on cold. I hope they sort things out and id be glad to revisit and give a mpre positive review.

Most of the reviews for this pub are very poor, so thought I would redress the balance. I booked a table on line for 1:30 Sunday, my reservation was ready on arrival, bar staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. My wife wanted a vegetarian option that had just run out, but a quick word with chef rustled up another... More

We hadn't been to this pub for some time and heard that it had improved greatly since our last visit, about a year ago. However, if anything it was worse - the furniture needs either updating or getting a good clean, two of the doors in the ladies toilet wouldn't lock, the hand dryer didn't work and in the bar... Part of a large chain, went to one up north, good value & enjoyed it! Went to this one 2 months ago with the family & it was mostly enjoyable. However went back 2 weeks ago, how things can change! distinctly average but cheap! will try again before Xmas to see if a change of management had made any difference!

We visited The Talbot yesterday evening primarily to listen to the musicians that were there playing blues music. The music was great but the food not good at all. The only vegetarian option on the menu was the veggie burrito. It consisted of a rock hard tortilla wrap around a couple of beans and rock hard unidentifiable vegetable matter (I... More

As with many reviews, found the pub to be grubby and dirty. We only had snack meals and thought they were over priced and poorly presented. The price of the coffee, £2.45, to be very high for a pub. The very best rating for the Talbot is average !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Came from Bath to this pub for my boyfriends family meal...Food was lovely and great value for money but the service we had from I'm guessing the manageress was outstanding...She got my boyfriend a drink for his birthday then interacted brilliant with all the kids we had there (6) in fact and got them all free desserts of their choice... Went to the Talbot on Saturday 27th September. After seeing the state of the tables and the floor we should have walked out straight away. Tables were sticky, floor was littered with rubbish. Had grand children with us so we decided to order. Food looked ok but was tasteless and cold. One very young waiter asked us if eveything was... More

We were desperate for food otherwise we would not have stayed. The interior of the pub is dingy with dirty carpets, peeling wallpaper, sticky table tops and poor lighting. Decided to get drinks first and, after waiting for ten minutes with no-one behind the bar, was advised by a local to order the food at the other counter and get... More

Just had a meal at the Talbot with grandchildren. Bought 4 different meals - none finished. Totally tasteless and luke warm. Tables sticky and more food was on floor than had been eaten. Most tables but not every one had been cleared but not wiped over. Pub was not at all appealing as standard of cleanliness was very poor. No... More
