Great food

It was a quick stop for Sunday lunch after visiting Nymans with our friends. We didn't book so we had to seat in the bar area but that was fine, we had our baby with us too and was no problem having the high chair next to us too. We all ordered roasts; lamb, pork and the trio of roasts.... read more

I hadn't been here before, and went for a meal with a friend on a Friday night. First off, one of us was given the wrong menu - not a great start! The actual building is very nice - spacious and airy - and the atmosphere seemed good. The food was good, though I feel slightly on the expensive side.... More

Booked a table, arrived, waited ages for drink for only some to arrive. Served starter, main arrived as last spoonful of starter went it.. This all happened within 55 mins... Bloke behind the bar was sooo rude, but that's ok.. He's leaving (apparently) SORT IT OUT.. Will not be returning anytime soon!!

A group of us went to the Red Lion for dinner this week, and what a disappointment it was! I haven't been here for about a year, when a different group would meet up at lunchtime - not too crowded, a good menu which gave a choice of light bites or a full meal, together with a specials board. Not... More

Four of us ate here and had a very good meal. The food was excellent, very well cooked, although the portions were slightly on the small side. The service was very good with the waiting staff being sufficiently attentive without being overbearing. The prices, considering the affluent area in which the restaurant is situated, were very reasonable.

We went for Sunday lunch..was o.k. The roast was small. Two roast potatoes!! Meat was of average quality..veg overcooked. On a positive..coffee was great..service was attentive..and not annoyingly so. Would maybe like to try a different day with a vegetarian dish..so will return.

Went here for a friends party, all the food was pre ordered and was on time and good. Wine was excellent and the puddings huge! Staff were very good and the fizz flowed! Nice pub and good food, would recommend.

My special night out for my birthday with my daughter and her partner did not start out well here, we walked in and were asked if we had booked, my husband replied we had after asking for our name he informed us we hadn't, after much debate we were informed they had put in the wrong name for our booking,... We took our 4yr old daughter and 16 month old son for a meal and was made to feel very welcome. My husband had the belly of pork and I the roast beef and both were delicious, it is pricier than your average pub grub, but worth it

We visited the Red Lion for the first time last Friday for an early lunch. The restaurant was empty when we arrived but within 30 minutes there wasn't an empty table to be seen, so it's obviously a very popular establishment. We were told the menu was new and my husband and I ordered from the very good value fixed... More
