I have driven past this place many times however this is the first time I have eaten there after it was suggested by a friend for one of our group meal out meetings. We were greeted at the door in a very pleasant way and shown to our table. The waitresses were extremely friendly and efficient, the food was beautifully... More

My husband and I visited The Red Lion for the fourth time last night and again, we were not disappointed!!!! We had the duck salad to start which was fantastic. My husband then had the burger, topped with pulled pork, which he said was better than the burger he had when we visited Jamie Oliver's restaurant. I had the prawn,... More

Very well presented food. The children's menu was a bit too basic for our two grand-daughters so they chose from the main menu. decided to only have a main course and a dessert. The two girls had the burger and fries, very well presented and sufficient for their needs. My wife had the salt beef hash, again well presented, but... More

we had lunch on Easter Sunday. We'd been attracted by the menu, spacious dining room and location by Nymans NT. The experience was every bit as good as we had hoped. I had the broad bean and Stilton soup - tasty and hot - followed by pork belly and scallops - succulent. My wife had scallops of the day and... More

On arrival the welcome was friendly enough however the food arrived in front of us with problems. The most obvious thing was the roast potatoes having no crisp to them. They looked almost boiled. The veg was too soft and over sweetened especially the carrots and parsnips. I had the pan fried gnocchi and found it very average. It was... More

Visited this evening for the Sunday roast. From arrival the staff are friendly and keen to please. No long delays in waiting for the food which was presented well, good sized portions, hot and delicious, probably one of the best roasts I've had in a resturant. Not cheap but worth every penny. Thank you

We popped in here on the way to visit Nymans NT house. Ample parking. We were to late to eat in the restaurant . So enjoyed lunch in the bar area. We could not fault the food which was excellent we went for the 2 course lunch for £12.00 each- brilliant . Staff friendly and happy to explain the menu.... More

Since moving to Handcross we have eaten here a number of times and the food is excellent. The place is very welcoming at the bar and at the table. Menu is excellent and well priced.
