Upstairs at Kaibo is renowned for Chef Laurence’s consistently excellent Michelin star standard and modern European techniques, using local and Caribbean ingredients, to create a masterpiece of a menu. The scenic view overlooking the tranquil North Sound is delightful, and the Rare Rum Lounge is decadently relaxed.

Upon entering Upstairs, I was impressed by the decor. As we waited to be seated, there was a large rum to peruse. We were seated on the balcony on a perfect weather night. Our waiter had recommended a nice rum drink, which i'm usually not a fan of, but it fit moment. The menu was very specifically arranged. Several interesting... More

the tasting menu is a real treat but don't eat the bread if you want room for everything. We eat here every year while on Grand Cayman and it is always a treat. We had a problem with their online reservation system this year but we were still accommodated both upstairs and on the beach for the monthly luna del... More

Kaibo Upstairs and Bombay Chopsticks are rated the top two restaurants on Grand Cayman. Both ratings are justified. Both restaurants are relatively upscale although Kaibo probably slightly more. Bombay Chopsticks has an excellent memory of a Chinese/Indian Fusion and is a much better value for money than the selections at Kaibo. The tasting menu is a good choice at Kaibo... More

If you happen to be in town the one night each month for the Luna Del Mar dinner...DON'T MISS IT!!! The restaurant has a water taxi ($20/pp) that departs from Cayman Bay and to the restaurant. They take the Upstairs restaurant and have dinner on the beach. The setting is enough to make this amazing. The food and the service... More

My husband and I had an exceptional dinner experience at Kaibo Upstairs. Service was knowledgeable and attentive without being too intrusive. The ambiance is perhaps the best we have experienced anywhere on the island—colonial Caribbean with a hint of both ease and formality. Lovely view. We both enjoyed the evening’s leisurely-paced, 5-course tasting menu (60 CI). Roasted cauliflower puréed soup,... More

Two in our party had grouper and it was very good, three in our party had the beef tenderloins and they liked it, the wahoos was also good but for the price it should be. The sale was nothing special, the octopus was very good and the creme brûlée was just ok. If you like dum they have a large... More

Dear Mona, Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are delighted you had a pleasing dinner with us at Upstairs, and took the opportunity to indulge in several of the new dishes, including the fresh local fish options. The octopus does tend to be a particular favorite of our more adventurous guests! We understand that for visitors... More

We continue to try out the restaurants on the island and this time it was Kaibo Upstairs for dinner on the North side close to Rum Point. The restaurant is situated on the second floor overlooking the water. All seating is outside and bugs were not an issue (we found this at all the north side places we went). This... More
