Modern decor! Classic cuisine!

My wife and I had planned to go elsewhere in Chambery enroute to Bavaria. We forgot that May1 is a major workman's holiday in France. Our hotel front desk manager directed us to Le Z since they were one of the few restaurants open. Glad we dined here. Service is professional and efficient. Our... read more

We were passing through and had limited choice: hence our visit here. Server was friendly, but theft and wine disappointed and was quite ordinary. Nothing seemed distinctively Savoyard and the prices were high for a mediocre bistro.

Another bad sunday evening experience. We were tired and hungry so did not complain about the overcooked steak and did not at first realise that what should have been an excellent Cote du Rhone was in fact on the turn. As it got more air it got worse. But the restaurant said it was ok and pointed out that we... More

We went on a Sunday night when most of Chambery is closed. My husband had a very nice mixed grill skewer, while i had a salmon tartare which was average. The service was appalling. When the waitress apologized - my wine was served, along with the bread, after we had finished our main courses! - I did say that she... More

A 'pretty' modern place, but the ambiance was not matched by the food & it was very expensive. The service was variable & English spoken by the waiters was better than their understanding of our requirements. The price was high for average food. The restaurant does not deserve ( in my opinion) its Michelin listing & Chambéry has plenty of... More

The food is not bad and well presented. They are generous with fat, salt and sugar to give more taste - I prefer restaurants where they get the same level of taste without those flavor enhancers. Service is ok, depends on the waiter you have. Open 7 days a week which can be practical. A good choice for group/business dinners... More

Yes, it is a bit more expensive than normal, but it is totally worth. The food is awesome, the risotto and the entrecôte are gluten free and delicious (but I suggest talking to the staff every time). There are other gluten free options in the menu as well.. The staff is very nice, speak very good english and french and... More

The atmosphere was nice. Our waiter was friendly. The food was outstanding. What more can I say? I ordered the saffron risotto and it was amazing.

Attractive décor; some tables have bar style seat which won't suit everyone. Food very well presented; delicious; service excellent but in the end rather pricey so would think again about going there.

The restaurant provides a very good atmosphere and the cuisine is exellent (a bit opriginal but still quite classic). Very good evening with friendly staff and amazing entrecote but a bit expensive for France where you can find better value for money.
