Sam Vaughan and her family gave us a warm welcome and provided an excellent buffet lunch for our small party of 15. The food included gorgeous homemade quiches, pies and salads. They also catered for our gluten-free guests. Efficient and friendly, lovely food. We highly recommend them and we intend coming back. Jenney Klose

A bit disappointing: usual choice no longer available, "chef on course, so no soup", supermarket brown sliced bread and side salad was not all fresh. More effort needed to continue, I feel!

Sorry your lunch wasn't what you were hoping for. We have been running the pub for just over weeks, and are still building up our supplier base. We will now be offering a wider choice of fresh bread types and baguettes. Our chef was indeed on a mandatory food safety course that day, so our choice was unfortunately a little... More

Visited with 4 friends last Thursday evening. We started by sharing a couple of portions of olives and bread with balsamic and olive oil. Some of the loveliest olives I've ever eaten. Our mains were delicious - 3 of us had beef and ale pie, one had fish and chips and one had one of the day's specials (roast belly... More

Samantha, Will and I are delighted to read you had a nice evening. As you state, we have only just taken over this wonderful pub as a new tenancy team, and we are working flat out to restore the pub and restaurant as a friendly and good quality place to eat and drink. Our menu will evolve over the next... More

With great enthusiasm we went to check out The Abingdon Arms. The bar seemed full of the landlords family complete with pushchair and bored baby. The menu was far too big and crammed with 'traditional pub grub' ~ not a problem is done well but we were soon to be disappointed. Our party chose, brie wedges, whitebait, prawn cocktail and... More

Im sorry to read that your recent experience at the Abingdon Arms was not what you had hoped for. We have been in place as a new team for two weeks, and trading for 8 days, following a deep clean and tidy up. So far, the feedback from customers has been very positive, so of course I am disappointed to... More

Never been to this pub before and we will definitely be going back!! Great food. I had the special Chicken Schnitzel stuffed with parma ham and brie and the children had the burger. Really friendly relaxed atmosphere. The current landlord and lady have only been there for just over a week but looked like they had been running it for... More

Ten of us plus one dog have just had a superb lunch here in the sunshine. The pub is in new ownership this week and well worth a try.

We had a pleasant lunch sheltering from the rain. Would have been nice to sit outside in kinder weather. Chose steak and onions bagette and moules mariniere - they were good. Decent portions too. Nice pub, friendly staff - and dogs. Understand it has just changed ownership and the new chef comes from the Red Lion at Evenley.

Had been to this pub/ restaurant on many occasions but mainly when the previous owners had it. I am pleased to say the food is still to a high standard and the staff very friendly. I can recommend the fish and chips.

Hi glad you liked lunch. My wife Samantha and I have just taken over this lovely pub, with our son Will, an experienced chef doing the cooking. We plan to offer good value pub food, and excellent beer, as well as a range of entertainment during the week. More

Came across this lovely pub whilst touring round, lovely village location with some great views from the garden, dog friendly, very warm welcome and had some lovely food, spoilt by the cost £6.50 for a sandwich, £11 for a bar meal (although very enjoyable) nearly £4 for a pint of beer and the final whallop £6.50 for a glass of...
