Had Lunch here and it was great, I had the special of the day which was fish cakes which were fab, and my boyfriend had chowder and the home made chicken gougons. The portions were good, and it was all homemade, not bought in or frozen. You order at the bar, and then they drop it down to your table.... more

This is one of those places that has achieved fame because it was excellent – then the tourist guide books featured it – then it changed completely because so many people followed the advise in the guide books and visited it. Years ago, when Irish tourism was in the doldrums, it had ‘real’ atmosphere and fantastic food but since the... more

I recently had the misfortune to visit O'Connors pub and order scampi, cost €14 odd. What I received was really cheap, frozen, fake scampi served with frozen chips. When I complained I was given a full refund-it was as if the manager was guilty about it. He said "We just get that in for the tour groups" i.e. people who... more

We knew nothing of O'Connor's when we arrived late in June. Never heard of it as a matter of fact. We just happened to have ended our day of traveling in Doolin. It was easy to find a B&B for 3 (my husband, 11 year old daughter and I), and even easier to walk to O'Connor's. We loved it here.... more

My wife and I were here in May '09 and had a blast. We had heard about it being full of tourists but when we visited both locals and tourists were there. We chatted up some locals and the next thing we know the owner, Theresa, was sitting down talking the night away with us. When they realized we were... more

I was in Ireland for 2 weeks (5/16-5/29) O'Connors Pub was the first place that we ate out. The food, service, atmosphere, people, local musicians playing made it a true traditional Irish adventure. I give it my highest recomendation. more

We tried this pub after trying another local pub and we noticed right away that we were surrounded by other tourists, which I guess you should expect, but to get the real pub experience you won't get it here. We did enjoy our meal here and the service was great, but don't go here if you want to mix with... more

Large pub it had the air of someplace that would get filled up fast by a tour bus. Fortunately we arrived with a smaller tour. Food was quick and delicious, chowder, salad and stew were all quite good. Service was okay, bit abrupt. Atmosphere was nice, traditional pub feel but also felt touristy at the same time. Nice stop but... more
